I think guys never spoke about the crystal that much on the noob 111 because everything else was so nice with the watch. It was really the only noob luminor that really was popular. The sausage dials were awful. Very noticable flaw when comparing them to the gen. In my option, the h factory was always a nicer watch especially with the v2 sharper case and updated crown guard. Guys said it was not as gen like but I honestly liked it better. It made the watch look better in my opinion. When it came to the dial and the crystal, always favored the H. It really comes down to what makes you happy with the watch. Some people will sacrifice the crystal for a more gen like case and vise versa. I think you are not crazy for mentioning the crystal and there is no need for you to apologize in this thread to any other person on this forum

Lol, okay. Sorry that it triggered you.

Apologies are not necessary. Merely pointing out that you have been here only for a month and probably not have the advantage (or misfortune) of being here in the early days of PAM reps. Barely a few years ago you would have needed to send your PAM111 out to one of quite a few modders to fix the AR, fix the lume, fix the CP, etc. That entailed a lot of waiting and a lot of money. So when the PAM111 V2 came out with most of that already on the watch out of the box, it was considered one of the first super reps. It still is, however, things like AR quality is not something that can be consistently assured, as you may have read. But in general, we consider the PAM111 AR quality as acceptable. It may not be to everyone's standards, but it stands for the most part. Now if you are truly bothered by the AR on your watch, you can contact prof and have one of his crystals installed (or as we like to say, "what crystal"?). It is in the realm of the principle of diminishing returns. But some people are ready to pay the extra $ to have their PAM111 leveled up. Maybe it is as well, for you.

Thanks dude, that's exactly what I wanted to hear. Is prof a member here? How do I contact him?

He is a Supporting Vendor here.

You can check out his section for samples of watches with missing crystals. :)

Wow. That’s what I’m talking about! Now I just got to get the watch functional again, then Prof’s crystal is on the list.

Here are some pics I took this morning of my BK PAM111. I don’t think BK does anything special to the crystal so this essentially a standard Noob V4 crystal. I personally don’t find the reflectivity to be any issue at all. I mean yeah, it’s somewhat reflective, as it’s a partially domed crystal. I’ve never (yet) looked at the watch in any particular lighting condition and been overwhelmed by the reflection, or in any other way unable to read/see the dial and hands. These are simple iPhone pics here so no trickery at play. I find the reflectivity of the crystal to be quite attractive actually.

Thanks for sharing. I actually have a related story. A few years ago, I met up with an acquaintance to buy a strap from. He was wearing a gen PAM390, the rep of which I actually had with me (he knew I was a replica collector). We put down the watches on the table for an impromptu shot. The first picture he took actually showed the rep PAM390 looking better than his gen. To which he said "Sometimes it takes a bit of adjusting to get the picture just right." Of course his latter pictures mostly showed the gen in a better light (pun intended). A crystal with bad AR (which we had in the early days) won't look better than the gen whatever angle you take the picture, but current OTB AR is quite passable. Of course, go with a prof crystal and it gets much harder to tell which is which.

Actually my acquaintance said he wasn't looking for tells in the AR but in the case construction because he had seen PAM reps in our famous rep market and the finishing on those, either polished or brushed, were simply horrible. He was absolutely amazed at how nice the polishing was on my reps (he actually thought I had the work done afterwards, which again, was true in the early days), he even contemplated asking me to buy a spare case set in case he dinged his precious gen. He changed his mind because he was selling the watch later but he still asks from time to time if there are reps of this and that gen. :)

I have been comparing GEN Pam112 to the REPs and so far the only difference I can see is the Swan neck regulator (See the REP swan neck below followed by a comparison). On the GEN its has sharp corners and edges were as on the rep corners looks cut. I was wondering if there is any Factory that has the perfect 1to1 movement clone with the correct swan neck?

Image resolution is too poor but it looks like the rep has no Y-incabloc. That would stand out first compared to the swan neck. And to answer your question, no there is none. Expecting perfection from a rep just sets you up for disappointment. They are very well made, but no rep PAM is perfect.

Awesome, thank you!
