Yes, the gen dial has a sunbrust effect, what will happen to rep is not clear, because even on gen this effect is minimal. As for the sub-dial, on rep it is, as with other recent models, brilliant. Speaking of gen, I have not seen a single frame in which it does not look like a maov, and although, given the not obvious variance of the sun's rays on the main plane, I would suggest that this should be seen from a specific angle, but personally - very I doubt and share the opinion that sub., the dial is not correct.

I had a weak moment and ordered one.. (approved) QC pics, they seem to have done a good job on the sunburst affect on the dial, I’ll inspect the sub dial closer once in hand.

Very, very nice... I agree, the dial looks amazing - even in artificial light. This just became my favorite new release from SBF. I don't wear gold much, if ever but I think I'll order this one - already imagining some lovely strap combos.

Indeed, not a fan of gold normally but this combo was too intriguing to ignore. I’ve got a few options on straps in mind..

My 1070 arrived today and I must say, SBF did a great job!
The sunburst is subtile but also astonishing. Crown and lever are made of carbon. One mall point of critic: The rotor is a little bit noisy - but nothing dramatic. The main problem however is the wrong movement, but we have discussed this point already. I am curious how the gold plating will last over time.
If I have the time, I will make a little review on the weekend.

SBF did a good job on the dial. On pics the gold lacks a tad bit of rose tone compared to gen but that's much better than on VSF's gold Rolexes. We'll probably never see IRL comparison with gen so it's good as it is.
I still think subdial is off : carved too shallow and too pronounced sunburst to me... but f*ck me I need one of those !

But you should always be careful with the gold tone. These photos where made with artificial cold light. Under warm light and sunlight the gold also has a more red tone. I tried to adjust the colour in post processing as good as possible. But it is impossible to compare these photos with photos from the Gen made under different light conditions with different parameters in post pricessing ;-)
Yep, agreed. Subtle tone variations are to be kept in mind on picture comparisons indeed.

Great pics JB - thanks for sharing. Really loving the dial / bezel combination but really wish this could have been a 44mm bronzo rather than goldtech. I think the darkened / patina'd bronze would be stunning on this watch.
