To my knowledge, on all the replicas the engravings are glued on plates. I don't know of anyone offering actually engraved plates.
The titanium is real on the reps that our dealers offer.

Hi Enzo,

On the back of the 036 that I got the "OFFICINE PANERAI" word does not placed to the circumference as in your photo, which is the same as from the special edition catalogue. On the catalogue the dial presents "L Swiss L", and don't know if it is the same as in the real watch as u know sometimes the catalogue photos differ from the real one.

My 036 does not have the recessed pin problem and I think because of a relatively thin dial...different versions between yrs and mine?

Also, I would like to ask the Bob strap that u use, is it a sportivo caramel one before u breached it? Thanks.

I don't know, may be mine is an older version. I got it recently from puretime as he said it is a swiss version cause he said there is another asian version for this one. I haven't bothered about the caseback, anyway it is different from the real one since mine doesn't have the stamped number, i.e. the watch is number X out of the XXX production.

For the "L Swiss L" or the "T Swiss T", I have found "T Swiss T" from the photos in the page 3 of the gallery section in Paneristi.com, actually very few ppl put photos of real 036 on websites, and there is another one which illustrates that they change to Pre-V straps from Dirk but I remember there is no close up photos, anyway let me double check the website link, I cannot remember right now.

Strangely, I do not see recessed pin problem in mine....

Bob Sportivo Choco...very nice...

Yeah that's right, mine is exactly like what ETA Sean's photo...

I agree the dial should be a "T Swiss T", well it doesn't matter too much as the recessed pin problem since the official printed catalogue is "wrong" as well.

Nice, but...

Nice photos. I own one, but I have big problems with the PAM 36 rep. When I got mine I was blissfully ignorant about the fine details of most Panerai models. I just thought they were great looking but I didn't know all of the particulars about the special editions and I certainly didn't know the history of the 36. If I had I never would have bought one because wearing it in the group I hang with would be a major red flag. I own 4 authentic Panerais. Having a fake 36 on my arm would be stupid.

Here are the big "tells" with the 36:

1. The dial really should say "T Swiss T". Major, major mistake and could be so easily corrected.

2. The serial number engraving on the back. The one shown here shows F2052/4000 as well as the OP6567 and BB1082301 on the display back ring...that's just dumb! All of those engravings on the real 36 are actually found on the caseback near the lugs. My 36 is much better in that it has NO serial number...it just has the OP and BB serial numbers on the lugs, engraved in the same faint style as the original.

3. The recessed pin. Yours is really recessed...mine is actually balls-on accurate and not recessed at all. I have seen two other fake 36's...one good, one bad.

On the positive side:

1. The Ti case is perfect. One of my authentic Panerais is Titanium and the quality of the fake is right on.

2. Movement...again, very, very good quality. The bridge, screws and LACK of a swan neck regulator all point to a true copy.

If I had it to do all over again and wanted a brown-dialed PAM, I would have passed on the 36 for a more believable rep like a 118 or a Base 116.

hmmm... It's hard to spot the "browniness" of the dial, it looks "blacky" most of the time. I bought a 036 second hand from kelster. Here's what written on the case near the lug: OP6513 at the left hand side, movement facing up. BB 991238 on the right hand side. As on the case back: Officine Panerai, Titanium, fish logo, 300m that;s all.

Sorry pal... You've to bear with my f*gly camera phone picture again.

Black or brown? Looks black to me. I think the AR coating is cheating me. LOL. If I compare it side by side with 177, it looks brownies though.

Nevertheless, no short canon pinion problem here and it has good crown... MARINA MILITARE is written on the dial, that kinda fool me.

The strap goes very well with the 036 too. I notice that in my blacky036 the hand glows twice brightly than the dial. Do you think I should get a new dial from davidsen (he claims that it's lumed using C3 superlume).

It's okay. I may be getting the black one since mine is blacky036. Or I can just modify it to become a 177 (black sandwich dial).
