There is a step by step guide somewhere here for the sandwich dial. It looks very easy, I have not done it either but maybe I should do mine too ?

Yeah it's a sandwich dial very easy to lume I think it could be s fun project to do. The good thing with sandwich dials is if you mess up who cares?!? You soak the back plate and reapply. :) get yourself some lume from HerbertPeter or Rctritech it's Superluminova so it will be $45 a gram but it's great!! Or get HerbertPeter lume it's the closest thing to Superluminova I have ever used and it's $10 a gram I believe. Mix pigment with binder and apply the hell out of it!! Wait for it to dry put the top plate back on and it will shine like a torch!!! And you just learned to lume your own watch. :)

Yes the Hitman is right... It´s an not so hard Project... Otherwise if you have no right tools to Remove the Hands and set them back, organize first an cheap Asia Watchmaker tool set...
These Tooth Stick methode isn´t the best to set the Hands back again ;) but it´s also possible...
The Sandwitch Dial have an Backplate under the Main Dial... This can be removed if you use an cutter knife... Then you Remove the Lume at these Backplate and Start Relume the Backplate...
If you let the Lume Dry a little and press the Backplate at an Flat surface before the Lume is Complete Hard then you´ll have an 100% Flat Lume at all Numbers ;)
Little Trick hehe...
If you press the Dial then Soft back to the Backplate when the Lume isn´t 100% Hard then you can get the Effect that the GEN Dials have ;)

So normally you can´t do anything wrong with an Sandwitch Dial...

If you say no i don´t wanna do that myself then ask one of us Modder ;)

Thanks much for sharing the tips!

2 questions

First question, you have outlined 2 methods for the lume finishing, we should choose either 1 of the below?

1 is to press the semi-hard lume against a flat surface
the other method is to press the semi-hard lume against the dial, so as to get the indices imprinted unto the lume (like the gen)

2nd question, assume binder and lume is of 50/50 mix - how many hours would it get to the semi hard texture? or what is the way to gauge?

many thanks again.
Jef

First you do an Flat Surface then you put the Plate on it and check if you like it already... The GEN Sandwitch Dial Lume is a little into the cutted Dial Numbers... But this is really marginal in the hight...
If you want it 100% same as the GEN then you need to do step one Flat the Surface and then push the Dial a little onto the Lume... But be careful it´s not sooooo easy sometimes to push it at all Numbers same...
I use an Crystal Press with an Special Dies that i have build me ;) so i press it at all edges with same pressure...
Check first if you are happy with the Flat look ;) mostley that is more then ok...
The Mixture of the Pigment and Binder you must check self... Normally it is 50/50 yes... This is a little Experience thing ;)
The Mixture stays around 60-90mins Soft... Not Really Soft but you can work on it ;)

Good Luck

C3 is what you need or any lume that says day color is whitish green aka natural body color. I encourage you to learn to do it and a sandwich dial is perfect for the first time. The hardest part will be getting the dial out.. Lol

Alvinado from Watchlume suggested a mix of C1 and C3 lume for Pam formula.

That's right Winemaker ;) lume King??? what do you have to say about that and my lumed Pam dial in this thread? Id love to hear your input on my work here? Seems like you hate me for some reason? I am helping people on this forum to learn how to lume and you constantly put me down. What did I ever do to you?

I would also like an answer to the C-1 and C-3 question. I am thinking of a relume on one of my 111's!

Thanks Guy's.
