Logically, yes, but as I've never seen that asian 6497-1 before I couldn't tell if the price difference is worth it.

Honestly, with as good as the A6497s are, I wouldn't spend the extra for a Swiss movement. Only you can decide if the Swiss is worth it, or not.

Yes, the $35 Getat movement is better than the movement that comes in the watch - correct beat rate and longer power reserve.

The choice is yours.

Getat's A6497s are sterile, it doesn't have any markings on it.

You have to contact Davidsen for a decorated Asian or "Swiss" movement then. He stocks these better movements ask him for the high beat Asian decorated one.

Even then they won't be correct for a 217, since the engraving needs to be upside-down compared to the normal movements, since the 217 is a destro.

The high-beat movement is the correct beat rate, compared to gen Panerais and has a longer power reserve.

Scratch the 120 actually. It looks good on the photos, but I've just looked at pics of the gen and it's nothing like it. No cyclops and the gen has a closed steel case
