PAM Rep as an Anniversary Gift?

Hello all,

My wife has been commenting a lot lately about how much she loves my PAM111 and I even caught her trying it on one day. I don't blame her I've also grown to love this handsome watch. I honestly have never seen her so interested in a watch and I have been collecting watches for over 3 years now.

Next month is our anniversary and I was considering buying her a rep PAM boutiques special edition however I don't know how I feel about buying her a replica watch (she assumes my 111 is gen because most of my entire collection are gen). I contemplated buying her a gen 000 but in all honesty I don't think gen Panerai's are worth their price.

I almost feel like buying a girl a rep is like buying her a CZ diamond ring. Thoughts?

Personally I wouldn't - I don't mind getting reps for myself but my lady gets gen everything unless I tell her what she's getting but I doubt she would understand the logic behind getting a rep of a luxury watch

You are right about gen Pam's not being worth their price only gen Pams I would consider would have to run 8-10 day movt or 18k gold otherwise I'm happy with the rep

this is serious, fellas.
:D

imo u must buy super super rep (for example like mayb ur pam111 v3 / imo pam112)
then just pack em in their rep box
wrapped em as a gift
and there you go!

i believe super rep + rep watch box + gift wrapping
even u buy for other person,
u urself who buy for other will inlove with that without actually open and receive it :D
imagine if that person is ur own wife

u will see bright smile and
Bless ur anniversary
:D

Both of you guys have good points. I don't like the idea of buying a "replica" for my wife however, last year I bought her a Michael Kors watch and it was much lower quality than my PAM111 v3 and also less expensive.

So as 458spider mentioned; if I were to get her a PAM KW Boutiques Special edition with y-incabloc mod, micrometer screw mod, and gen box set I would be spending almost $1000 and getting a very high quality watch well worth the investment.

Hmmm... decisions

When you're buying a gen PAM for the missus, you're not saying you think the gen PAM is worth that kind of money, you're saying she's worth buying something that expensive for. Big difference. ;)

If she does not know about your rep hobby, and she wears the rep gift thinking it was gen, what if she gets called out while with friends? I would not risk it. No number of gens after that will enough to make up for it.

That's my two cents. ;)

thats why i said, better even must buy super super rep
with solid caseback :D
if u r afraid getting called out with flaws in display case back

but imo
being called out means u wear something even from miles away it shout fake or wearing something which not in production
eg. fake dial

another point
its impolite to actually checking on ppl property either its gen or fake

do u think if u wearing ur pam111 v3 and someone just say
"hey can i take a look at ur watch?" then u give em some closer look
but then he say again "take it off, i wan to look more detail"

if its close fren, i think its ok
but if it was stranger?
wheres that guy moral?

Hmm... my wife doesn't mind to wear reps I bought her provided she was told it is rep . Women don't like to be lied to, especially Your wife.

My proposal is:
- buy her good rep of 111 and tell "it is a rep, very good one, be'cause You seem to like the design".
- buy her something more expensive, like good quality bracelet etc. to become "main" gift and give it together with the watch.

Everyone is happy then :)

My opinion is you should not buy her a replica watch. I wouldn't buy anyone a replica item. Some people hate the whole idea of owning replica's you never know. If you don't want to buy her a genuine panerai because of the price/product maybe buy her something else.

either that r she just doesn't want to say it. It's a though call. You can't look into a persons mind. If someone bought me a replica watch I wouldn't be to pleased. And I'm a replica buyer. but that again is just me.

I wouldnt do that....if you do that you must tell her the truth or you will get heart attack whenever she mentions about the watch or someone want to see her watch....

For your lady, you should buy a gen. PAMs are way overpriced I know but the same thing can be said to 99.99% of luxury goods. To me, I'd be much happier to spend 5K on a good watch rather than a handbag.... at least should you decide to sell the PAM one day you guys won't be losing much. And we all know how much are those damn bags going for.

You guys are funny. I say buy her a rep. If your wife is anything like mine, first she could care less about the name or brand, second she would more than likely get mad if she found out I bought her a gen when she liked mine just as much for a far more reasonable price.
