Hoping someone can help me figure out what going on with this watch. I've had it for a month or so was bought from a member here and has been working fine. Now it only seems to work for a few hours and when I wind it I can only wind it four or five times and that's it. So it will work for and hour or so and them stop. Before I was winding it no more than thirty times and was working nicely. It seem to be stuck or something and I don't want to try and force it. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance. C

Sounds to me like the main spring might be a bit hung up. You could try giving it a good solid slap against the palm of your hand. I've heard that works pretty well in some cases. Worst case, take it to a local watch smith for inspection/repair.

Good luck!

try to find a local watchsmith.....or even better contact our VACUUM ....and send your watch for a thorough cleaning, lubing and adjusting on the timescale.

i had a similar problem once, he did a great job for very fair price, and it had 46 hrs power-reserve after....runs perfect ever since.

good luck

Thanks for all the quick responses. Should I have an issue with the guy that sold it to me you think? It was only a little over a month ago and paid a couple hundred for it. Was bought from a very nice guy on this board. I guess I'm not really sure what the protocol is here.

If it has been running fine for a month or so, I would assume the seller never had any problems with it. You can't expect a private seller to "warranty" a watch like one of our dealers would, no.

That's just my $.02

What movement to you have? My fiddy stopped also and when I turned the crown backward ot gave it a gentle whack it worked. At last I unscrewed the back crystal with a ball of duct tape and a little screw fell out. I saw where it belonged and put it back in with an oxy/acetylene blowtorch, combined with a garden spade, and it runs ultra groovy now. On the other hand you might try a very tiny screwdriver.

take the caseback off, and check the movement with a loupe, better with a 10x eyeloupe.....

then you might see what the problem is.....
