Maybe the thickness of the movement is a problem...

YES, of course it is a problem because gen P.5000 is thinner than 6497. Due to that gen Luminor 8 days case can be thinner too.

Rep makers will need to have a Clone or "Semi-clone" P.5000 movement. Even for accuracy because gen has PR of 8 days

That's what I meant, ALE. The thinner a movement, the more expensive /complicated it gets. I'm not sure that ZF was aware of that as they announced the movement in May...

I think so, because they announced a correct and accurate case and a movement with correct PR.
Therefore if the project is not stopped we could expect a thinner clone and PR movement, But this is a true challenge !!
Maybe they are very late due to that
