PAM 6497 won't wind. $500 - $700 to fix.

$118 excluding s/h - yikes! Being a broke grad student, sure does suck.

However, my main concern is what is the movement is ok, but it's the screw that the watchsmith put in which is causing the problem.

Yeah, the price for it sucks. It is 3 times more than a 6497 movement from Getat and all i can see the difference is just the platinium plated bridge.

As for whether is the movement is ok, honestly i don't know about it. Maybe you can send it to a modder or watchsmith near you for a check?

What's the likely hood of me being able to find one of these 4 screws that are located on the back of the watch?

Do you mean the screw for the lug wire? If so, Panatime do have it.

Awesome. :maty:

Going to order this first and then if that fails, going to send the watch to a member on the board here to take a look at it.

Those screws, were replaced by some other generic type of screw that the watchsmith placed. Since then, this is when the troubles started. I'm hoping this will fix the issue. If not, well - just updated the look of the watch a bit.

I really doubt the use of generic screws for the lugs bars could cause any internal issues. They don't penetrative to the inside of the movement cavity. They just hold the lugs bars in.

I'd go with the 800$ repair.
Just make sure that watchsmith wears this outfit, so you feel more comfortable.

Easy solution.

Remove broken 6497 and take it to repair shop and request it to be fixed as well as fully serviced.
