PAM 512, my first Panerai, all help is welcome

Aw shucks. I had to go and fall in love with this watch and now I read that it has a fragile movement. Is this "ST" movement really that terrible that I can expect to have to get a new one every few months or what? And is it costly to do so?

I bought a pam512 last year, but the movement went dead after 4 months, maybe after wearing it 30-40 times...

Unless u like doing servicing or replacement by yourself regularly, then better choose other models

Bumping this thread, as I am trying to choose between a PAM512 and PAM574 now as the PAM337 that I originally ordered is out of stock. Are the movements the same on the PAM512 and PAM574? I tried searching but could not find information on the PAM574. Which one is more reliable? Have people been still having issues with the movement on the PAM512?

I bought a 512 from Puretime and put it on a real gator from Panatime.

It's small enough that it goes well with a suit and fits nicely under a shirt cuff.

I originally wanted the 337 but it seems I've always had trouble with the lugs working their way loose on the Radiomirs. Drove me nuts!
