Below is the front everything looks good, other than the ticky tock of the second hand, I had the flash on my phone and as you can see the flat black of the case makes it easy to read with no reflection like in a SS case back.

and if anyone can shed some light on how to use the GMT function on this would be greatly appreciated.
Here is what I'm thinking from reading around the web, I believe the GEN rotates every 12 hours and that's why there are no markings or bezel
since there is no bezel and no inner 24 hour markings, and the GMT hand on this rep rotates every 24 hours, without inner markings or bezel the GMT function is about useless.
am I correct in that?

Not necessarily. You can just think of your number indicators and multiply by 2. So say the GMT hand is on 8. That would be 16:00 on a 24 hour scale. If the GMT hand is in between 7 and 8 that would be 15:00 and so forth.
I wish there are a rep with 12hr gmt
Because lots of pams use this function, all gmt with 1950 case use 12hr gmt except pam 531 with 24hr gmt like all gmt pam with luminor bettarini case
Where did you manage to source a new caseback from? A dealer or m2m? Mine has the same issue
