PAM 380 vs 388

Hi all,

I would like to expand my collection with another Panerai. I'm doubting between a 380 and 388. I likt both, but I can't choose. Buying 2 is not an option I have read the Guide, but wich has the best movement? ( not in looks, but in buildquality / durability)
I think I will make my decission on this.

I don't know if KW still make the 388 with 7750.
I have mine at least for two years and still brand new

I would deffo go with handwind 380; more reliable and slimmer on the wrist in keeping with original cushion case design.

380 looks just as good, has a great movement, closed caseback and a reasonable price. No contest for me.

I also prefer the PAM 388 but talking about movement PAM 380 is more simple and better

the difference is movement and with or without date. I prefer PAM with date so it's 388

I prefer the 388. The 380 even as gen seems really wrong and cheap to me. It's like someone ran out of ideas and started hammering all the details together.

I think link no.1 is older version, 2 and 3 are the same watch, only the strap is different.

I bought the 380 and 388. I sold the 388.

1. The 380 has turned out to be (and I've had it for years) one of my all time favourite and reliable pams. I feel because of it's slim figure can be used as a dress watch as well.

2. The 388 is a very pretty watch indeed but I had to get mine fixed once and as a 312 owner as well....well it's too similar to the 312.

BTW I started my pam journey as a Luminor Marina fan. The 380 changed that. I now have an equal number of exquisite Rads.

I see there are 2 reps of the 380.
There is a lot of price difference.
Are they both the same? I can't spot differences except the strap.
