How good is the aligator strap?

Worth to pay +120$ for it ?

I got a colleague who got his pam 288 from malaysia and opt for the normal strap ..

I did some comparison... outlook wise on the strap i find there is not much difference i.e both is the same black croc design... only the inner portion ... his strapis more to creamy yellow while mine is greyish ..

Personally i felt the gen alligator strap is more stiff ...

To be the extra 100 or so for the "rep" gen strap is too much. For about 120-140 you can get a superior quality aftermarket strap.

I have no idea as to how much the good aftermarket straps are... So I went with the rep gen croc strap... I also felt that the straps with taper suitable for the 288 are harder to cone by. If the aftermarket straps cost almost as much, go for the aftermarket ones...

Here's a pic, showing the strap to be a tad too short for my liking...

I love the special effects one can achieve with the crystal..

I have some problems with screwing down the crown - may eventually get this looked at. But, as it is, it's a beauty to be sure.

Same for me..... I did sell it to my workmates as he loved it.... And I keep on looking at it most days wondering why I did sell it to him in the first place? Top watch, may get another one again.....

Id recommend getting the rep strap and if you're nit happy with it (I thought it was fantastic actually for a rep strap), you can get an aftermarket one like inspire-workshop, orloff or Peter strap....

I ordered my strap before receiving the watch..... Otherwise I probably wouldn't as the quality of the rep strap is top notch in my opinion.

Who from? Does it fit the deployant?

It's a Gunny Dark Oil, 26/24. It doesn't fit the deployant, but you might get him to custom make you one for that size.

That looks sweet Mambo, nice look, I'd go for that on mine. While some people feel a 288 deserves a more elegant strap, I like a touch of ruggedness to mine. I mainly wear either my Lange or Rolex watches when I want to sport something dressier, my PAM's all other instances.

Received my Pam 288K ultimate from forum member Notsobreit, great guy to deal with, and the watch is superb. I also managed to buy a genuine black Croc strap for it from a forum member at RWG, arriving tomorrow , I have already seen shots of this on his 288 and it looks the Mutts Nuts.

Do anyone think that the lume on the 288K is a tad too 'greenish' as compared to the gen? The gen I've seen appears to be more white, but most of these pictures are a little blurry...
