OK may be I'd bump this one up. My Noob's 243M caseback cant be open with any of my PAM opener tools - neither 44, 45 nor 47 work. While I am sure i will be be able to open with a sticky ball, what worries me is the water-tightness once I close it with the ball, and here the tools have been great. Have any of your folks found a tool that works with Noob's 243? Thanks!

Unfortunatelly, no... I have bought a whole set of CB openers with no success. Use a duct tape ball, that should work, but its far less elegant :(

Thanks mate. The thing is, it is no problem to open it with a ball but to make it water resistant on closure one needs a proper tol, the ball wont cut it past 30 meters.

Going to visit my watchmaker this Saturday and see if he has something I can play with...I am taking this bad bay for snorkeling over New Year's so want to grease and waterproof it before I go.

If you use one of these- http://watchbitz.com.au/shop/index.php?_a=viewProd&productId=49
especially in conjunction with a case holder, you will be able to open and (properly) close most case backs.
Whilst not the optimum, there are some sketchy Pan case backs on the market ATM, and no single size tool is ever going to be perfect if the case back is off.
So if you can't make a Pan tool work, and you realise that sticky balls and duct tape have problems nipping a case back up, then an adjustable tool is yiour obvious answer.
Sure it requires careful and appropriate use, it is still better than a case full of water!

Same dilemma with my Noob 243....Tried a 44 and it was too small.
Tried a 45 and it was to big.

Then i found this.... http://www.ebay.com/itm/PANERAI-Watch-Handheld-OPENER-PAM-40-44-45-47-New-Size-CUT-OUT-Screwdriver-/261138116707?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&nma=true&si=5sHlWg9Yf5Br2swhNM3EMli98ao%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc

Their #3 size (the new size as they call it) fits perfectly !!!

Very well made too. Its aluminum so it doesnt scratch the case back but its not so soft as to get damaged easily.

Shipped very quicky too.

Tada! Got the tool and it works perfectly on the 243 case back.

It is a little rough on edges and I smoothed it with fine grit sandpaper and proceeded to open up and regulate this baby, as well as fix loud rotor and waterproof to 5 bar...

As I now have most of tools and equipment at home, it is easy and a pleasure to do.

This particular A7750 was gaining crazy 65 secs per day and was loud as hell on the rotor so it took a while but I am very pleased with it after all.

See end result below...

So the "new" version 40.80mm tool will open the 243M v2 from noob?

I have the same one from Noob, the screw down case back measures 40mm so nothing in the garden variety 4 piece PAM case back remover set will work (note: not to be confused with the 40mm case size remover which actually measures 35.6mm - I don't have a 40mm Pam but would expect that case back to be 35.2 or so?).
...so 10 years later if you are still wondering, there you go. Laughs.
