Hello Guys,

I might be wrong, but my caseback opener for 44mm Luminor cases does not work with my new 243... Also the tool for a 47mm case is too big, hence the question is:

What sort of opener should I use on this one? Will a 45mm one work out fine?

ps.: thanks, I know the ball tape story, but I'd prefer a basic tool like this, since in lots of cases the tape ball left huge smudges on the CB and I hate that!

Yup, just as coax pointed out. Get an Horb from eBay and your set.

OK guys, thanks for the heads-up :)

The question is still unanswered, will a 45mm tool open the caseback of the 243?

Are those horb balls any good? Do they only work with any case backs?

I had balls like the Horb and used the duck tape ball as well, works in most of the cases, BUT there were times when I could not open some of my watches with them....

The duct tape ball was extremely effective, but when applying much force on the CB it sometimes left lots of smudge from the glue, it was a PITA removing it. Hence started to buy PAM caseback openers, which are much more expensive (USD 15 each piece) but that could be used by my local watchsmith as well to open up without leaving any marks on the CB.

Thanks for the info... Where can you get the case back openers for usd 15? I've only seen them for like 50!

I tried my 45mm on my PAM243 and it's too large.... It doesn't work neither....At least for me.

So are the Noob and H factories fitting different backs, V1 and V2 different?

Removing is one thing but torquing up for water tightness; is duct-tape OK?

I need to know these details before I finally choose my 243. I'm noob here with pams!

Mine is a H Factory and the 45 fits snug! You have to take the wrist band off though!

OK may be I'd bump this one up. My Noob's 243M caseback cant be open with any of my PAM opener tools - neither 44, 45 nor 47 work. While I am sure i will be be able to open with a sticky ball, what worries me is the water-tightness once I close it with the ball, and here the tools have been great. Have any of your folks found a tool that works with Noob's 243? Thanks!
