Hi Guys, just had my QC pics through from Doris at PT and was looking for any help/advise/comments as I don’t really know what I’m looking for (apart from the blindingly obvious – a cracked screen J)

This is my first ever rep purchase and I’m not really sure what to expect. I am very picky and always like things as perfect as they can be – I know I’m not buying the real thing hear so there may well be faults with all reps (the odd scratch or mark etc..) but want to understand from the community what’s acceptable or not.

On the whole I think this watch looks good. It looks like there’s a mark on the tip of the crown lever and also a screw head damage on both the large crown screw and bottom lug/strap screw. Also, the underside of the buckle looks a little marked.

I also have no idea what’s going on in the machine readout but I guess a beat error of 0.0 is good J

Are these screws easy to come by and replace, do you guys think this looks good, or perhaps should I request to see another one?

Thanks for your help here

Look's good to me, but what you do have to remember is, these are probably put together in someone's kitchen or bedroom, so plz don't expect 100% perfection, they are rep's at the end of the day, at a fraction of the cost.

Good thing about Panerai, whether rep or gen, is that there is a wealth of parts to choose from and work with.

For example, I change the straps often, and hate unscrewing the lugs (wear and tear), so I have a set of spring bars that look like lugs (quite common).

How is that different from the new ones offered from puretime in the 111M and 177M?
These are the more correct 21600bph high beat seagull st3600 movement's, the new 111M & 177M come with the low beat 18000bph, but now plat plated bridges

Hi TF1 - interesting indeed...I am a noob and I honestly thought that's the movement I was getting in my v2 177M....the 6497-2 platinum plated.

Are you saying that this is indeed a low beat movement and the only differents is plat bridges?

Your movement looks sweet and I think I'll order one straight away.

I see like me you are in the UK....lots of what I've seen/read on here goes on in the UK/China....I love PAM's but know nothing about fixing/upgrading and DIY movement swaps but would be reluctant to keep sending my watch overseas for this.

Who's the best guy/place in the UK that could swap the movements over for me and maybe replace for a longer screw like you did....also would mind replacing all the screws as some heads are damaged as in my QC pics.

Learning all the time - thanks!

just to clarify & apologies if i've missed something - the guy in the UK is selling for $110 shipped? - was under the impression he has it in the UK now and would be selling in £'s.

anyhow, good price do you think?

Thanks for the advice mate - can you point me in the direction of the best place to buy spares for PAM's - I'll probably take this one but try and get hold of a new set of screws, wouldnt mind some quality spring bars also like you have.

cheers

Yep He's giving prices in dollars, as this is a currency everyone on the boards understands...
As for the price, yeah, not bad. The un-adorned high-beat Seagull at 21.6 kpbh costs you $38 from Getat's... so not the best deal ever, in my book...

Yep u can get the same movement fir $38, depends if u want the movement for a closed case back or open, closed I would say go for the 38 bucks one, open, well, plat plated and engraved bridges I think is worth the extra, trust me in saying that if u buy the sterile movement and put in a open case back like the 177M or 111M you will wish that u had bought the other.
As for the op selling in dollars, ask him what he wants in gbp, he will save on Paypals crap exchange rates, if it's still there btw

That sure makes sense... In a nicely finished rep, with all markings, having a sterile movement would sort of ruin it all... But that's not too much of my problem for now since I mostly have homage PAMs... until, maybe, I get that new 292K...

I'd be careful with this kuvarsit dealer.
I ordered one of these movements 4days ago and have not recieved any communication from him apart from the automatic email confirmation. Cc has been charged tho.

I tried to contact via email but no response yet.
Consider using one of the trusted ones here. The price difference is not that big.

Nothing So far, no replies. Please consider using someone else. Rwi trusted dealers have the same for sale. Sead1999 for example.

Thanks for the heads up on this guy.
I got Angus at PT to fit one in to my new 177m today and its shipping tomorrow. He's doing it for $118 - I'd be unable to fit myself so would have to send watch off anyhow so I thought that was a good deal to get Angus to fit for free.
