Hey there,

What sort of mods if any does this watch need to pass for a Gen on the wrist?
My 111H was a cheapy blue AR and so on, So I was never confident when people asked if it was real to say yes (not that that ever happens)

So i'm at the stage where I would like to be confident that if someone knew what they where talking about they would assume it is real.

P.S same goes for 292K

cheers

OEM crystal is all i'd do. I would also drop a new movement in there as H-Factory movements are junk.

By the way... if somebody knows what they are talking about they would flip your watch over as 177's have clear casebacks........

Are they that bad? Where would you suggest I source a knew movement?

Thanks.

They are unreliable...

I see great lookin 6497 movements all the time.

If you are registered on other forums just keep an eye out in the watch parts sections. they go quick so ya just need to check in often.

EDIT: Sead sells 177's with movement swaps by the way. ;)

Thanks guys, From the sounds of it if I keep it on my wrist the average joe can't tell, I guess im just worried about the movement crapping out on me now.

Is it a complicated thing to do swap a movement?.

not at all. remove caseback, remove stem, remove movement retaining screws, remove hands then dial. now do it backwards with the new one.

It's easy, but bear in mind you need proper tools for this (specially for removing/re-installing the hands) otherwise it's easy to scratch/smudge the dial, or smudge/break the hands.

Enjoy! You'll get hooked. Trust me. I've recently re vamped my 177m and 177L. 111j dials, swapped 177L crown and placed on 177m. New movements in route ( from new 111m noob). Swapped in 177L cg lever into 177m cg( way better rollerball and pin IMO). Some slight sanding of 177m cg and pin to fit more flush to case. Dunno if anyone else had this problem. Remember when taking off the hands w a hand puller tool, put some cellophane plastic over them first and be very careful, that way they won't get scratched! Have fun!
