"The PAM 162 is the version with Black dial and Silvered sub-dials “Panda” type of the first generation of Luminor Chrono 44mm.
This first generation of gen Panerai Luminor Chrono 44mm is a full-sized version of the "traditional" 40mm chronographs, however it uses a completely different movement, the Valjoux-based OP XII
It features a date @4, constant seconds @9, the usual chrono centre seconds hand, date adjustment @10 and minute and hour totalizers.
There are three first models from 2003 to 2006, they all with the same structure of brushed SS case, polished SS bezel with tachymeter and complex dial with nine numerals. The difference between these models is only the colour of the dial and the Daylight inscription: PAM 162 Black with silvered sub-dials “Panda” type, PAM 196 plain Black Daylight and PAM 188 plain White Daylight dial.
There is also a 2005 Special Edition, PAM 224, all polished SS and nice Firenze Blue dial.
The PAM 162 was the first 44mm chronograph, released in 2003, but was relatively short-lived, only lasting a year, being supplanted in 2004 by the Daylights White dial PAM 188 and Black dial PAM 196 chronographs instead.
The PAM 162 is strangely the only Panerai Chrono 44mm with “Panda” type sub-dial configuration. The two following Daylight were originally promoted as having "Panda" type dials like the Newman Daytona, however just before shipping this decision was vetoed, and they ended up as plain black or plain white. Perhaps the “Panda” configuration is being saved for a future special edition?
The replicas F-series of PAM 162 are fitted by A7753, they have working date adjustment@10 and are First Class replicas, despite a slightly inaccurate sub-dial colour.
July2013- Noob releases a new version of this watch with A7753, for a complete review of this version in comparison with 2010 Noob version you have to read ALE PAM 162 Daylight review.

The new 2013 Noob version has some interesting improvements but there are also some serious worsenings added.
-Which is the best version available for PAM 162, Noob 2010 or Noob 2013?
The answer to this question depends, as many times, on personal taste.
Can you live with the more evident flaws of each version?
-If you choose Noob 2010 version you will get bad CG finish and date fonts, with inaccurate position of Date window and slightly thicker markers, inaccurate big chrono second hand, “slim” crown, a bit bigger and lighter subdials and lever with inaccurate roller
-If you choose Noob 2013 version you will get a perfect CG and lever, almost perfect date fonts and date window placement, inaccurate big chrono second hand, “slim” crown but very inaccurate and noticeable thicker markers together with bigger and lighter subdials, which makes the dial completely wrong IMO.
You must to decide with above info but the decision is not easy. Noob 2013 version with markers as thick as 2010 version and the same size of subdials would be the best of both versions, but these flaws ruin the overall accuracy of this Noob 2013 version. You should be able to live with above mentioned flaws to admit this Noob 2013 version.
EVALUATIONS
After getting the magnificent Noob PAM 356 and 326 Daylights, I got disappointed by the accuracy of both Pam 162 Noob replicas. I understand three years ago the flaws in Noob 2010 version, but nowadays I don’t understand the lack of care from Noob making such a thicker markers and bigger and lighter subdials in 2013 version.
Both studied replicas are very well manufactured and overall quality is awesome.
Considering the improvements, worsenings and remaining flaws, we can consider that Noob 2010 and 2013 versions are in the same level.
Anyway, there are many flaws in both replicas even to keep a First Class status but the great manufacture quality allows to maintain the status of First Class of low level bordering a lower status.
We must wait for new releases to get a real Super replica of PAM 162."
