CP = cannon pinion (Pin what the watch hands are mounted on)
The crown guard issue is highlighted in a picture further up the thread

It's nice looking at reviews/feedback like your's as an amateur to all of this, as upon closer inspection, these are all very readily apparent (after reading up on the terminology and looking at V4 photos on puretime, etc.)...

Does seem to be a step back which is a weird direction for a new version!

Hi, I am new to replica watches. I am ready to pull trigger on Panerai 111. I have seen some PAM111 on sale for $158 to $308. I am confused as I am not sure what is the difference. I am leaning to pull trigger on $158 but want to double check to spend extra cash and buy from InTime for $308 but t not sure if it is worth to pay extra cash?

i will appreciate if any other good suggestions for a great Panerai for first time buyer.

i am also not sure about how long these watches last and I saw a YouTube video by TGV showing replica watches with broken hands and other parts, questioning the their durability.

Thanks for your responses in advance.

with regards, Pendu

Hi,

Really appreciate your quick response. I am not that fussy that font doesn't match with original or other minor details. Since it will be really hard for anyone to notice those minor details. I will be happy as long as watch is working properly and looks good overall and won't break within one year of purchase.

What makes the watch expensive. Is it just getting close to 100% match makes it expensive. I am happy as long as it looks same from a distance. I think no-one is going to grab my wrist to closely look at the watch :)

Thanks, Pendu

if you're not bothered about it being close to the original just get the cheapest. or a Casio. the reason behind replicating a watch is so that it is as close to the genuine as possible. If you're not bothered about that don't bother getting a replica.

The reason, I am looking for a replica is that it will look like original watch. Cheap Casio will not look like a Panerai

I am okay as long as it look 75% as original with decent movement.

Thanks, Pendu

Not sure if it is true or not but numbers on the dial look more green on V4 and seems more white on V5 to my untrained eyes.

Thanks, Pendu

The watch just looks as a V4 in the beginning of 2018 looked. Even at that time short microscrews were lottery, and I frequently denied QC if saw a wrong screw. Hopefully that is also a random issue now as well. I wonder why do they ever use these lame screws at all, if they have correct ones in stock, and screws cost cents for them... why to put garbage inside. But I think same question about swan, costs very cheap to get it shape corrected, but they still put that incorrect crap.

My TD said that “all” had the same short screw... and that this was the new v5 (I ordered a v4 back in October, and got QC today) I asked for changes for v5 from v4 but he didn’t know. Have someone got the “official” release changes for the v5? The screw is annoying but not a dealbreaker for me. I’m more concerned about the CG finish that have been discussed here. And if I understand correctly the issue is that there is a little gap between the short edge of the CG against the case?

I also don’t like the pin/ribbon sticking up from the body of the crown guard. (as I showed in the picture above) but not really sure if this could be the case on some gen’s as well?

About the color of the sandwich dail numbers. In my experience the color can wary depending on light and background lume charge at a given moment. But I could be wrong...

And finally my TD told me they only comes on leather strap now. I ordered rubber...

Also the CP on the new ones is a big issue with the nipple instead of it being nice and flat.

Well here is my CP, I understand what you mean by the nipple effect, but I cannot see it :)

that one looks good but if you look at the posts further up the thread you will see what I mean. also the images that some of the TD's have put up, maybe this one is still v4 unless they have now fixed it......

Yepp I see, checked all my pictures and this one is the “worst” and as you say there is some nipple effect to it. Might be angle/light issue to.

But again, the nipple effect on the crown guard. I cannot unsee it! And I find the gen ones to have a much more flat head that in embedded in the body of the crown guard. The wise men agree?

In either case I must say that the PAM111 is one of my absolute favorite watches right know, just discovered the brand after years of just owing Swiss brands. I now have the v3, v4, v5 and a GEN one is not far away! (Can’t decide between 111 or 510) Could not be more happy. The watch is just clean and stylish and looks bad ass with different color in rubber.

So big thanks to the guy that’s sold me my first v3. You’ld cost me a fortune! ;)
