Need your help here... So I just picked up the subject watch (ZF factory) with the 7750 movement. Watch looks great, and runs fine, but I can wear it all day (say 9 hours), then the watch stops 2 hours later...

I'm assuming this is a little low for power reserve? I have a miyota 8215 (different watch), and I can seem to stretch it to 36 hours on the reserve.

Anything I can do to help make the reserve last a bit longer?

Pic of the watch below!

I should also add the power reserve is more like 15 minutes...

So it's down to 15 minutes now or it was originally 15 minutes instead of 2 hours? Anyway, in either case, a return or a service is required. It depends on what you can agree on with your dealer.

Yeah, it holds a charge for 15 minutes after wearing it all day...

Same thing happened with two of my zf pam a7750's.

Send it back if you can. I ended up just getting mine serviced but one developed the same problem a month later

What are your thoughts on the the V6 model? It's 23j vs 28j, I'm tempted to get that model instead of paying shipping, waiting for the repair, and like you, I'm worried about the same issue coming back...

Here is new model I'm debating...

Base Movement: Asian 23J automatic movement; Decoration: Platinum plated movement plate and rotor which are made according to the genuine movement

What movement is the 23J model?

I avoided V6F previously due to the too brown font on the dial and the date wheel but as the 351 is a tabacco brown anyway it may not be too bad - just wont look as gen like.

I'd assume its a seagull movement. I hear mixed things. Like all, i think its more down to luck that anything else.

My V6F didnt make me happy either i need to admit. The hands look wrong (look too much like plastic, too think and the minute hand is way too short), the lume was way too green (even when not charged) and the above mentioned brown font.

I did have a comparison thread somewhere of the three. Different things bother different people. Unfortunately for me, i just never found the rep i was looking for in this space. Have since moved on to other reps and am much happier (a couple of grand later unfortunately :().

Hmm, thanks for the information Maraach... Yeah, its the tough thing with these reps... Kind of seems like luck of the draw on the movements...

Okay, so I tried again Maraach, and yep, you were right, the V6F version with the seagull has some issues as well...

Are you familiar with why the seagull rotor won't freely spin? The watch holds a decent reserve, but it seems like the rotor is finding too much resistance when spinning... is there an easy way to fix this?

It's too bad, I wish they made the ZF version with a hand wind movement... wouldn't be close to the gen, but would hopefully work!

Really sorry to hear that it sounds like you have had some terrible luck there. Ive just ordered my first seagull movement, so i cant chime in. ALE swears by them though so once again it sounds like you just had bad luck.

gwatch1234 Do you still have your ZF one?

Check something for me.... when you hand wind it, does the rotor move at all?

When you are talking about 7750.. it is definitely depends on your luck. I've had good A7750 with very good PR, and I've had bad A7750 with bad 2 hours PR. After sending the bad a7750 to my local service man, it went better with 7-8 hrs PR, but still not enough to jump to the next day.

With seagull you would have BETTER probability to get a good one.

I am talking purely from my experiences all these years acquiring reps.

It is not recommended to hand wind a 7750 or seagull. It would break the reliability. In short, if you have a bad movement especially with bad pr, I would suggest you to ask your td for an exchange, as I highly doubt a service would ever return that bad movement to greatness.

Are we sure about this? Strodda has worked on my a7750 and suggests there is no problem hand winding the newer a7750. Personally i dont make a habbit of doing it btw but im getting mixed messages.

Maraach I wore the watch today, and when I hand wound it, the rotor didn't move. However, if I then moved the watch, the rotor would spin a lot, like the mechanism was releasing the hand wound reserve...
