Politely disagree about the brushing— I think it looks pretty good. The lower SEL does appear to have a noticeable gap, but I think that’s a QC issue on this particular watch. I’ve seen other ones posted with exceptional tolerances on the SEL/lug interface.

Remember too that at on the wrist there’s no light beneath the SEL, and from even a few feet away, it’s almost impossible to see either the SEL gap (unless it’s huge) or minor inconsistencies in the bracelet’s brushed finish.

No rep is ever going to perfectly match a gen, but for $325, this is a damn fine attempt.

Lets hope so my friend as I have 2 x JFs coming my way very soon. However I paid $369.- :-(((

Thanks for the comparison, it really is an incredible effort by JF.

The Rehaut engraving is not as crisp and the blue hour markers looks slightly darker on the JF but these are very minor and only noticeable when looking at side by side comparisons.

Well, then it would appear JF made the right dial choice for the gen purchase. How unfortunate, lol. Kidding aside, being the typical “ugly American”, the differences in East/West preferences isn’t something I considered, since Western preferences are always right and superior, LOL.

JF did such an amazing Job, even tho I know this watch since the day it got released it still surprises me how close this thing is.
Thank you very much for doing this comparison repworld. Threads like this are gold worthy.
Shows actually that gens have a lot of flaws too, misaligned rehaut and the last S of 'Swiss Made' looks misprinted lol

Well of course they are! I love Canada-- been there many, many times. Canadians are without a doubt among the nicest, most welcoming people in the world. The only thing I don't get is the curling...WTF is it with the curling???

I went to college in New Hampshire, so we'd regularly go to Montreal to get drunk and act stupid. Banff/Lake Louise and Whistler are among my favorite places anywhere. Being a Floridian and living 2 feet above sea level, I love Whistler, because I can immediately ski from the top without fear of altitude sickness. Going to the Rockies, where summits are 12,000 to 14,000 ft. from 0ft. and attempting any strenuous activity without taking a day or two to acclimate is a recipe for one whopper of a headache, or worse.

Blue and gray colors are more appealing to guys in "western countries" so more people will be buying them here.
It was somewhere on watchbus that JF actually sold more grape than other colors. They are probably selling more of them in Asia - people there prefer louder colors.

I know that in Asia they sell virtually no gray dials at all.

I had a friend the gen in grape and he was warned at the time that it would have the lowest resale price once he bought it as was t very popular in the U.K. But he loved it so went with it a anyway.
Needless to say he was g best impressed she. He saw how good these JF's are.
