Yeah I was lucky I got one of the QC reject ones when the errors were still very minor. I love it, even with some qc errors it's so close to gen it's NWBG.Love this watch. Trying to be patient and waiting on the blue dial but these pics are making it tough!
The SEL gaps & brushing are very prominent tells straight off...

Looks good but as I thought gray color is off. They will probably rep it soon again. that's why they bought gen gray dial and gen blue dial.
Ummmmmmmm.....
Were you looking at the pictures above?
It looks like the exact same color. The difference in photo angle and light source position creates a wide range of surface effect on the dial as it is a reflective sunburst dial made up of hundreds of thousands of miniscule grey lines. The color itself is virtually exact, trust me I have seen the gen and the JF and I wouldnt ve able to tell a color difference...
I've seen both and it's not the same shade of gray and no it's not the lighting.
Very top pic that repworld posted only confirms it. Only grape is spot on. They will probably correct gray and blue with v2.
It’s interesting to me that JF supposedly purchased the gen with the grape dial, since as the story goes, “the grape dial is the hardest color to replicate correctly”. I can’t imagine that sales of this terrible red-purple abomination will be anywhere NEAR those for the blue or grey dials. From a business standpoint, I’d want to buy the gen I would expect to be the best seller and focus my efforts on getting it right, rather than worry about correctly matching the dial color that’s the least likely to sell well, but as we all know, logic and common sense are often strangely absent from RepWorld...

Blue and gray colors are more appealing to guys in "western countries" so more people will be buying them here.
It was somewhere on watchbus that JF actually sold more grape than other colors. They are probably selling more of them in Asia - people there prefer louder colors.
Well all I can say is that ive spent ttime with the gen and Ive spent time with the JF, albeit I have not had both together at the same time but I remember them as virtually the same color. The thing about grey sunburst dial is that the ligjt refractions create a wide range of hues and shades and colors, to me in my memory of the two dials they are the "same"...
