Hey I don't have this yet buy I've been looking at this piece for awhile and haven't pulled the trigger. I've looked high and low for a good deal on this watch. So its X-mas time and here I am again. I did a dealer search for Oris in the Chi-Town area and lo and behold the jeweler that I bought my Wife's wedding ring is having a clearance sale on Oris. $810.00 for the TT1. Best price I have ever seen for this piece and right in my backyard.

Is this the 1000m non-chrono model?

Sounds like a good price!

It's a great watch! I too was looking at this for a long time before buying it, and after getting it I wish I had done it a lot sooner. I purchased mine used from the TZ classifieds.

Although your price seems great for a new TT1, I would not purchase before getting a quote from Rob at the FOOF [Friends of Oris Forum] forum.

They are an official dealer that is based in Australia, and will beat pretty much any price you find. Obviously, because they are official the original warranty will be included.

Let me know how it goes Sean.

TT1 is sweet. There's an overpriced, but convenient jewelery store in the base of my building and they have a nice selection of Oris dress and dive watches. I dig the watches, but can't seem to forget a friend at work who has an Oris and the conversation he has to have with people quite frequently: "No, it's an Oris watch, not an Orvis watch."

I've never heard of "Orvis".

If you're buying a mid-tier watch like Oris for the name recognition, you're probably out of luck. The same can be said for Tutima, Sinn, Ball and the like. That doesn't mean they're not fine watches and, in most cases, tremendous values for the $$$$.

Orvis is a flyfishing supply house primarily in new england. Guess it's just a location specific thing - and I'm also fairly addicted to fly fishing.

And I definitely agree with you that Oris/Sinn are great value for the money. I'm looking around for a well priced Sinn 356 Flieger at the moment.

May I suggest you quote the TT diver with the regulator movement? In my opinion it is not only just as fine as the one you are looking for, but gives a more interesting movement configuration and time reading.

Cheers!

I bought the black face SS version for my birthday at the end of September. That one may be on the market really soon.

I don't keep them very long before I let someone else enjoy them. I'm not a greedy person.

Someone mentioned "Friends of Oris". I have an Oris Artelier Skeleton on backorder from them and have heard good things about them. I do have their recent pricelist and your price does beat them by a "few" dollars. Good luck in whatever you purchase :)
