@ drivesick: look thru the DIY Tutorial section of the forum..there are more than enough threads posted on how to fix up the lever on the CG (Crown Guard)..alot of simple yet effective quick fixes..and also what do you mean by a screw loose in the movement? as in the screw is moving around freely? you might wanna post a picture..
