really Listen to ur wife for a change lol
Babloba nailed it ! the ends need to be skived [ sliced on a small angle] to taper and thin the ends , and make it "lay" correctly . also the keeper is WAY out of scale and proportion . try a much thinner piece of leather or skive enough to make the keeper thin and a little narrower
skiveing: u need a THIN square straight edge to skive , think straight edge razer . a utility knife with sufficient blade length to span clear accross the width might be a hot tip
a wide SHARP wood chisel with a good handle might do it famously , or a chinese vegetable knife gripped with 2 hands and pulled toward the end like a spoke shave
skiveing could be done in 1 pass, straight across the full width of the leather strip .
thick straps : I have NEVER understood the desire for a thick , out of porportion strap . look at a gen Panarai strap . theres a good reason they arent thick! however,i agree they are a little thin
i have a narrow tolerence for thickness . i prefer .090 to .125 thou thick
i have a nice .160 thk. Toscana lt brown buffalo on my fiddy and i think its too thick and stiff . i have been wearing it 24/7 for 4 months and its still too stiff and STILL looks too thick
let your beautiful watch do the talking , not a cargo strap LOL the watch looks good on u , the strap screams "look at me , look at me !" JMHO , of which i have many lol
