one smart mofo

tried this already.....4 different suppliers.. no one can cet it right.. and after spending so much $$$$ and time, i gave up. they don't understand it must be 1:1 and they cannot get the geometry right. the genuine CG is flared up on the end, and apparently this curve is extremely hard to duplicate. if anyone wants to buy this part and do the same.....go for it!

When you say suppliers, do you mean in China or USA? Also, you may not be going to the right people. Micro machining or Micro CNC is a different field than most of your CNC factories. I doubt the Chinese care too much about 1:1 because they are thinking of overall cost. Where as some of the companies who deal strictly with micro machining and scanning understand the need for exact tolerances.

exactly summery of this experiment....don't do it. worth the same.. but more fees LOL. was worth a shot. i have left the movement, case, dial, hands, crown/stem... i just put them at my website.. no hurry to sell the stuff anyhow.

Read the entire thread and you should understand. Flav was experimenting based on a theory that a gen PAM Luminor might be worth more $$$ as individual parts than it is as an entire watch. I, too, thought that it would be. Turns out that, in practice, it is not.

According to Flav's last post, it's about the same total, but with several individual transaction, it actually amounts to less overall in his pocket.

yeah, no big deal... all that is left is the dial/hands/ case... alot of interest from my website so should sell quick. i will end up netting the same as selling it complete.
