So, I received my VSF rep Summer Blue Ultra Deep today and wanted to show how it compares with the real deal. Overall, the rep is decent, but it is far away from a NWBIG. First, some photos of the dial. Photographing both the gen and the rep is very tricky, as unless you catch just the right angle they just appear black.
The VSF, shown on the left above, has a considerably greener tone to the dial, and the dial itself is flat on the VSF, compared to a 3D texture on the genuine article. Also, the VSF pattern to the dial is much more obvious, whereas the genuine dances in the light as you move it around. Frankly there is no comparison.
The clasp on the gen has larger buttons to release the clasp than the rep. That aside, the rep clasp is very close with similar feel and a very good tolerances.
Moving to the side of the watch we see the biggest issue. The VSF is thinner than the gen, not by a small amount but by several mm. This totally changes the look and feel of the watch on the wrist.
Moving to the crown side we see an even more pronounced difference, difficult to catch on it camera, but the chamfered edge part is much thicker on the gen.
Moving to the movement, both wind smooth with VSF at its usual high level. However there is a phantom date position on the VSF which is disappointing given the ticket price.
All in all, I think this is a bit of a half assed effort from VSF. Its dimensions are off, the clasp button is totally different and the dial is, frankly a big disappointment.
I give it a 5/10.
