OM Speedmaster "Dark Side of The Moon" Opinions

Looking for opinions on: OMG0653C - Speedmaster DSOM "Vtg Black" CER/NY Blk OMF V2 A7750

I haven't got an extremely keen eye for reps, so if anyone would be kind enough to give me their opinions on this rep I'd be very thankful.

Funny you just posted this, I had a look at this model myself yesterday. According to Steve from theonewatches, the OMF ist currently not available. However, I don‘t know if it‘s only him not able to get anything from OMF or if they‘re not manufacturing at all right now.

Regarding the watch itself, I think it is safe to say these Omega models are not as close to gen as the „standard“ Rolex reps (Sub, Daytona…). Nevertheless they look pretty appealing. The only thing that really bothers me is the extreme thickness of the A7750 movement. It makes the watch very present on the wrist and it is definitely thicker than a gen. Will be quite difficult to get a shirt sleeve over this big boy.

It’s only 1.1mm thicker than the gen (17.2mm vs 16.1mm). Out of all the speedie reps this is a good as it gets due to there being no 6 sub-dial. The gen is a beefy watch too and I don’t think 1.1mm would stand out given the thick size of the gen.

I thought that the movements in the Speedmasters were quite poor; is that no longer the case?

I think they’re all using A7750 movements, so still bad. I haven’t had a problem with that movement, but I never use the chrono function which is where they’ve got a bad reputation.
