No, I know. They replaced it with a better collection of systems. :D

Echelon is the one you should worry about now.

Echelon is NSA. Carnivore was FBI.

Ohh I know Echelon, and Carnivore was replaced for sure.

Its the international "secret global surveillance networks" I would be more worried about.

Well, historically they crossed the border into South Korea in 1950...

Then there were the 250,000 "volunteers" who went to fight for North Vietnam during the War...

Tianimen square...

A reputation for selling weapons, military technology and equipment to anyone who will buy -- and possibly and potentially nukes.

Add to that the common misconception that China is still stuck in the 19th century with a vast peasantry and maybe this makes the average American just a tad bit gun shy of perceived Chi-Com intentions?

Don't get me wrong. I love their cuisine, rep watches and all the captured militaria I own that originated there :)

but I agree, they do not need to sell watches to fund terrorism, nor do I think their watches do. As was said, they are playing on people's emotions, historical recollection and misconceptions about an unknown land as part of the hype.

The fact that the US government willingly spreads this lie to effectively allow them to use the Patriot Act against fake Rolexes is deplorable. The fact that you, the American public let this happen is a travesty. :D
