Add to that the common misconception that China is still stuck in the 19th century with a vast peasantry and maybe this makes the average American just a tad bit gun shy of perceived Chi-Com intentions?
Don't get me wrong. I love their cuisine, rep watches and all the captured militaria I own that originated there
but I agree, they do not need to sell watches to fund terrorism, nor do I think their watches do. As was said, they are playing on people's emotions, historical recollection and misconceptions about an unknown land as part of the hype.
