Just a quick question, where exactly on your Bic did you get your springs from ?

There is more than just one spring on a Bic.

Maybe you tried the wrong one.

I just removed the bezel from my V1 blackbay and, man. those springs are TINY !

Perhaps the spring out of a springbar might work, if yours is anything like mine

Yeah, just hold the springbar with a pair of pliers, and grab ahold of one of the tips with a pair of sidecutters and wiggle it till it comes out, the spring should follow.

thanks, a watch shop gave me a smaller sized spring bar and the spring totally fit! just had to snip it a little to get it the right height. now just having trouble getting the bezel to fit [emoji57]

Hi I also had this problem. But it is possible to fix. The construction is a steel washer pushed up by 4 springs around under the bezel. On one of this springs has a click "catch" part installed to provide clicks and one direction turning and this tip goes thought a hole in the washer. Problem is that one spring is to strong and push the bezel up in the area showed in your pic. If the bezel is removed the spring can be pressed together or changed. I changed mine with springs from a normal lighter that I cut in the right length. After that I put a small amount grease on the small teeth inside (on like 10 out of the 60 teeth) and I also very carefully made little sharper bends on the retainer spring that's the wire hexagon shaped spring that holds the bezel to the case. Sharper bends only very very small adjustments means a tighter fit when the bezel is pushed back. If everything is done right the bezel will look and operate perfect.

best luck

Hello santre22 I just got my zf pelagos and the bezel is kind of loose. Taking in to account your explanation, do you think the bezel in my watch is loose because the spring that has the "click catch" is too short in order to hold it?

The new versions have a different system with a hydrel (white plastic) gasket instead of a retainingspring, however the small springs under the washer can help little if modified.

Good tip, I also want to add what was said earlier in this post about pushing it on and rotating it. That plastic retainer might not be seated under it's lip, I think that might be why some of these are uneven or showing their teefs. lol

apologies for the thread dredge, but I'm having real issues reseating a bezel on a BBB with the same hydrel gasket. just can't get the bezel to 'pop' back down. am I missing something obvious?

You should consider taking your watch to watchsmith, that is what I did.....If there is something missing , he will know what it is, and he will know how to fix it.....All the best!!

i got a really almost perfect vr6 pelagos, but the only thing that was off on it was the travel of the bezel, too loosey-goosey. i checked this info out above, and it proved to be super useful. i was impatient and scratched my lugs by taking the bezel off with a knife, which i would recommend against, but that doesn't bother me here nearly as much as the travel of the bezel. i tried a bic lighter but the spring was too big. so instead what i did was cut a tiny piece of plastic, off a credit card, and dropped that down under the spring, raising it up just a couple of milimeters. it is very difficult to keep track of the springs and the lock piece that holds the ring in place, be very very careful not to lose it, i dropped it twice, and i had carpet here it would surely be gone and all would be lost. the small pieces of plastic worked really well. it now clicks and has great resistance. it's still got a bit of travel after each click, but it doesn't just spin near-freely, and when you click it it now has a very expensive and solid feel to it. good luck with it, aside from that this watch is great value. my friend has the gen, and aside from the colour and brightness of the lume (the rep is definitely not bad, but the gen is like a flashlight) and the fit and finish of the bracelet, it really is an impeccable rep. at first glance, just looking at the dials in the light, you would be hard pressed to tell them apart.
