I'm about to pull the trigger on this one,
http://puretime.co/product/aeternitas-tourbillon-ss-white-dial/

What do you guys think?

I've read the whole thread and know threres better ones out there but I really want a FM and the only other one which shows up here has the pr and I believe a dif mvmnt, correct? so wanted to know your thoughts on this one, tia.

Also for 600 am I crazy to assume that it has at the very least "decent lume", although there's no mention of it in the details?

And yeah i was told the price just went up on these from the factory, sound fishy?

All my experience so far with trying to get any tourbz is that there all out of stock so wouldn't be surprised by a price increase when they get back on the market

The FM is a beautiful tourbillon. You can't go wrong.
If there is a price increase with Angus, why don't you check with other TD's to see if this is the case with them as well? You may end up finding it for the price on that link you referenced.

Price increases are fairly common, especially since the increase is from a better and more nicely decorated movement.

My breguet tourby went from 600$ to the current price of 820$. This is because they put in an automatic tourby with full engravings in it.

And no, there will be zero, or very poor lume on that piece. This is the case with most reps. Its something that is expected within the rep game, no matter the price of the piece.

Thanks all, really appreciate the feedback.

I'm actually getting it through Trevor, and he was who informed me that the factory just raised the price on it and therefore his "better price", for western union payment, was just over 600.

I never actually made contact with angus, never got a reply when I asked for stock on that one and a pvd casablanca and I even pulled the trigger on the website only to have my cc reject the charge.

So, if I'm going to have to do the w/u thing I'd rather do it with Trevor than Angus, Trevor is cool and I've used him a lot over the years.

Does the caseback for this watch exist with the correct spelling for "tourbillon"?

And if not, would I be crazy to think I could source this caseback,
http://www.eta911.net/Franck-Muller-Aeternitas-Tourbillon-Power-Reserve-FM-TB-114#pro_vdimgs
And change it on the base aeter tourbi?
Hopefully same factory makes both and Trevor could source it, just hopping it would fit.

Regarding lume, I'm not even sure if the gen has lume especially considering that the gen base aeter toubi only has white dial with black numbers, so kinda doubt it would, correct?

I AM going with a trusted dealer, with trevor like I had mentioned, he already confirmed stock with the factory (along with a small price increase).

The scam site link was only to show the only other repsite where I've found this model with the correct "tourbillon" spelling on the caseback, I know better than to actually think of buying from a site like that, I mean even the url itself "eta911" sounds offensive.

I'm just really interested in your thoughts on weather its valid, plausible, toss-up or no chance in hell, if I ask for this model with the correct spelling on the caseback.

I mean that eta911 site shows pics of a correct one used in a rep, so the part exists, I'm just not sure if trevor, or anybody else, has enough access to the factories to be able to source it.

I personally would not really try it. the chances are against you that its compatible. Many of the tourby factories are different smaller factories that produce their own cases and etc. And not to mention, these pieces are usually never made with the same measurements.

So TRUE,

if you want to go for a mixup, get it all at one dealer specifying what you want and ask him to do the work even with some little more $. It'll avoid you some disapointement.

Thanks again for the solid advice guys.

cwazy,
I read your lume tutorial as I also want to either dive into luming or buy some lume kit and get my local watchsmith to lume dials for me, anyway, what are your thoughts on the pre-mixed syringes? I know it was mentioned in the tutorial post but never really addressed or answered. I'm seeing them as time and waste savers but you know maybe they're garbage so would like to hear if anybody has used them or has heard/read anything out there about them.

Also I have no clue on lume quantities, like how much lume would be ok for say 1-2 dials, 2-5 dials or 5-10 dials? I see unmixed powder sold in grs and syringes sold in ozs?

someoneelses,
here is a link to trevor's section in the td's area here, he only confirmed stock on the specific FM Aeternitas base model I ask him about and I did not ask for stock on other tourbis, so ymmv.

syringes are garbage. A good lumer will mix pigment and binder in varying ratios to achieve the best outcome.

I probably use less than 0.05g for one watch. I use exactly the amount I need to complete my job. This takes practice.
