I bet they will be relatively successful. Some wanna be millionaires will go for this so they can talk about it with their friends.
I say $2400 per year for a watch that cost 2-3 times to own is not a good idea. What is a good idea is buying a $200 rep every month and enjoying a nice and varied collection.

Yeah! I think the same way, most of those people who rent a watch are wanna be millionaires

Renting a watch is F'ing stupid. Nobody is gonna be impressed because of a watch. I would never consider doing business with someone just because of their watch. Many very wealthy people wear cheap watches cause they don't care about watches and many broke fools wear expensive watches they can't afford.

If you want to wear a watch you dont own go to the store and try it on but dont throw away funds to try one out.

If anyone wants to rent any of my watchs.. I need 125% deposit of which 120% will be returned when I get the watch back.

term would be 1 month.
Lol. Sure do you have any nice super reps or a Franken. . Spending 20 or 30 bucks dosnt sound that bad to me. .hell I lose more that that when I flip it 2 weeks later because I'm board

Here's a part of the article:

Users make two primary choices: what type of watches they want to wear and how frequently they want to change. There are currently three tiers, based on watches that retail for $10,000, $20,000 and $40,000. They then choose how many times they want to switch it up -- between three and six times per year. They fill out a preference sheet based on brands and styles they're interested in, and work with a concierge to figure out which watches they'll try next

Membership for the least expensive watches, brands like Breitling, Panerai and Rolex, start at $199 per month, or $2,150 per year. On the high end, for watches like Patek Philippe and A. Lange & Sohne, it can reach $1,379 per month, or $14,900 per year.

With a lot of places allowing you to finance a watch, renting only seems like a good idea if you are looking to actually purchase the watch later on. No?
There's so many options with buying a watch that it's not like it used to be where you need to front the money right now in order to get that dream watch.

So much better off buying a used watch and then reselling it. Obviously a bit more effort but I have had gens that I wear for a while, and have sold them back at prices higher than I paid.

A fair few of their watches are repped, and repped well too at that.

If your ultimate goal is to by a gen, like what those guys are kinda suggesting - buy a rep, if you like it, buy then gen and flip the rep :D

How do you know some are repped? Wouldn't that make the business

*gasp*

Illegal?

Also... What if you just start swapping after market parts...

At these kind of prices renting would only make sense if they let you rent daily for roughly $10/day. Otherwise I can just buy a good rep and keep it!

I totally agree.

Renting a watch for rep forum members is pointless BUT there are a lot of people out there that find reps highly offensive (eg WIS)......and for them renting may seem appropriate before deciding to pull the trigger on a 30k gen.

Perhaps the final purchase price may be offset against the rental payments?
