Saw an article somewhere, you can tell if it's a Swiss ETA or asian ETA copy by number of holes on one of the smaller wheels. Swiss ETA have more holes than copy.

Which ever it is, it's ETA/style for sure.

Yep, that's not 100% reliable anymore. The CN are geting beter and beter at makeing the clones look real. It works for some brands of MVT but not all of them any more.

I have the holes and the retainer looks curvy as the gen Eta (first pic), so I think i have the real Eta, so the 290 $ are not a bad price for that !

Is the movement water resistant? It has a stainless steel case with a crystal on top of it, also has a case back which sits on a rubber gasket. It is water resistant until it gets wet. I'll never claim that a watch is water proof or resistant. I will apply silicone grease to my own watches in hopes of improving my chances but I am realistic and understand what I have on my arm.

These are manufactured by Chinese replica artisans in state of the art factories..

Thats a big picture I also thought it wasn;t water resistant, but to be sure I asked. There are allot of no name watches that are water resistant that are not expensive like 20 euro the max, why don;t they make these fakes water resistant

I know the ones with the ETA movements are more money $200+.I am looking for a plain ss and black.

Biggest difference is the rehaut. The VIP mariner is much more conical.
