Noobie in search of PAM, but what style?

I really enjoy the look of the PAM. Especially the classic styles but I have questions about the styles.
1. What is the 10 day function for?
2. What are the simple style numbers. Radimor I believe they are referred to?
3. If I'm getting one without second hands is a 21j alright?
4. Are they all winding watches, the classic styles anyway.
5. I like ones with a black face and a black strap.
6. What is the lever over the crown for?
Is there a link somewhere that explains the reps and their movements.
Not really sure about all the other stuff I should ask. The reason for this is that I have learned some expensive newbie lessons with some other watches and want to do some homework before getting me a PAM.

10 day function is the power reserve - no such rep movement exists
Simple style numbers (like pre-v/sausage/ or sandwich)
you want 6497 or 7750 (minus the gmt mvt in the 029)
most are manual wind - but factories are branching out
the lever puts pressure on the crown and locks it in (waterproofs it)

For a manual wind look at the 000 or 005 (sausage dial)
For auto look at the 243 or 029

wow, that s a lot of questions:)

1) power reserve is 10 days, but not possible in our current reps
2) panerai has simple style numbers for almost 80% of their models
3) No, it is likely a 6497 movement, and the watch is called a base pam
4) no, there are autimatic and manual models for pams
5) Get the 111M, 005, 26k
6) it is supposed to protect and further waterproof the watch, but it has became pam unique feature

"Simple style numbers (like pre-v/sausage/ or sandwich)"
not sure what this means
I think I like the 112, 287, 090 ones in that vein, Simple style
So I should pass on 21js ?

Why is it called a sausage dial? I do like the 243

decisions, decisions, decisions, I'm gonna get one soon I reckon, But I need to find the right deal at the right price. I don't wear brown very much that;s why I like the black rubber strap. So many places to order from but I'd like to get one that has been used by a forum member.

sandwich dial has 2 plates. The bottom plate is lumed then the top plate which you see - think 111J

sausage is just the dial and has lumed applied to the top and looks like sausage lol (found on the 243) - think 000 and 005

pre-v has fat numerals and slightly recessed numerals and have a faint to no glow - think 201a 202a ect

What's a noobfactory and and H factory? I keep seeing those phrases. I haven't caught on with all the lingo yet and I feel quiet foolish asking but if I don't I'll never know.

Just different factories. Both has pros and cons.

Lets do this. Do you want a 44mm or 47mm. Also a manual wind or an auto.

A 44mm definitely. As for auto or manual....I'd like an auto but I really wouldn't wear it enough probably to keep it running right. I don't mind the manual wind. I didn't want anything to do with the manual wind at first but the more I read the more I'm open to one.

ShiroTenshi- thanks for the link.
