Ok... time to phoenix this thread. I am going to buy a Daytona... the TT with white dial featured by DarthAlex is a "must have" in my book. My concern though is the movement. Anyone have any long term experience with the 29J sec@6 movement? I love that N-Factory build quality, but I have been warned by Trevor that the 29J still has issues and I would be better off with sec@9. Anyone know the maker of the sec@9 Daytona? How is that rep compared to the N-Factory sec@6 in terms of accuracy, build quality etc? Any guidance on this would be much appreciated. Of all my rep purchases, this is the watch I want the most, but also the most weary of. Thanks!!!
The sec @ 9 isn't quite up to noob quality. In particular the bezel fonts seem off and overall fit and finish is a bet less. But, it's close and certainly worth what Trevor's asking. As some wise man said, an inaccurate sec @ 9 beats a dead sec @ 6.
The noobfactory 116520 has been improved since then ? I heard the sec@6 is now more reliable, is it the really truth ?
I an not aware of any major improvements to the movement. I bought the TT version last November and also picked up a full rose gold version, which had an entirely different case set. The TT daytona has been in regular rotation ever since it arrived. It runs great and keeps great time. I am even comfortable using the chrono on it. The movement seems to have better fit and finish than most if the A7750s that I have owned. I make no guarantees, but the sec@6 had not been an issue for me.
I bought both Daytonas from Trevor, although the full gold watch cost almost 100 more, the build quality is not nearly as good as the TT. I was also surprised to discover that the TT bracelet and bezel are both gold wrapped, not plated. This is apparent because the sides of the mid links are still SS. I have polishes and buffed out scratches from the midlinks. The solid Rg Daytona is plated. The pushers are better made on the TT version and the crystal is also higher quality. On the other hand, the bezel shape and profile is more accurate on the full gold version. For the money, you can't go wrong with a Noob factory TT or SS Daytona.

Hi there.. I know this seems to be a long dead thread. But I really enjoy the review. It was a great one..
I'm planning to get a Rolex Daytona 116520 Black dial rep, and this one seems to be the best one I've seen so far. Thickness isn't an issue for me, but everything else looks perfect like the gen.
However, I'm looking for an online store that's trusted to sell me this watch. Note that I live in Indonesia so I'm expecting the store to ship worldwide. Paypal payments are also a preferred method for me.
Anyone know where I could get my hands on these?
On another note, Is the Noobfactory made is the best rep so far for this particular model?
Look at the first picture in this thread. You'll see the dial with 3 sub dials - one at the 3 position, one at the 6 position and one at the 9 position.Guys....I have read what secs at 6 and 9 mean but still cannot make sense of it. Can someone please explain this in very basic terms that a noobie will understand??? I'd really appreciate it!
