NOOB Panerai PAM 005 QC pics - what to look for?

ETA have stopped selling movements outside of the main manufacturers. This happened some years ago now.

Due to this, I would bet that either the Chinese factories are lying about those movements being genuine ETA, or like others have said, they’re de one hand movements that have been “refurbished”.

id rather go for an Asian. Can’t see them being any worse than the ETA ones nowadays. Especially after a service.

I also wanted to get 005 because of OP logo on the dial. But pam111 has sandwich dial which looks better than sausage dial. You know with Panerai you can’t have it all in one watch.
I’m totally happy with pam111 - it’s a classic same as pam005. I think pam111 is even more iconic than 005.
I think you will be happy with ether one.
i payed for noob Pam005 but got newest noob pam111 which cost more so why not.

thing to remember when it comes to qc of pam111 is Y Inca block. I’ve heard some of Noob pam111 v10 are missing it - I’ve seen a couple of pics of v10 without it.
my Noob v10 have Y Incablock but it’s facing front way but it’s such a easy fix so I decided to accept it. It just need to be turned other way.
noob Pam111 leather strap is garbage. I asked chiding time to get it on black rubber but they got it on brown leather strap. It also came with red camouflage extra rubber strap.

i am very lucky in that, I have the 005, but I also purchased a 111 only last week M2M on a sister forum. Looking forward to getting that in the next week or so.

Best of both worlds. Get both! Haha

I think they use Asian ETA with a couple of refurbished Swiss parts and call it Swiss ETA.

My M2M 111 turned up today. Perfect pair with my 005.
pimsis had any QC pics yet? Confirmed if it is a 005 you are getting, or a 111?

The dial color difference between the PAM111 and PAM005 is so noticeable when they are side by side. PAM111 is lighter and faded like a more grayish black. PAM005 is solid black. Is there a model like the solid black dial of the PAM005 with a sandwich dial?

I had noticed that exact same difference. They are both late edition Noobs as well.

The 111 is still very much black when not side by side.

Unsure if there is a sandwich dial as dark as the 005 though?! Be nice to find out.

I went back and forth about the two models. On the other hand I realize that the 111 is more iconic regarding the sandwich dial, but I find that the sausage dial looks better on the 005. To each his own!
If they would QC me a 111 instead of the 005, I'd accept it nevertheless. Both reps are ultimate NWBIG Super Reps and extremely beautiful so, why not indeed.

Probably yes. I'd prefer the Asian 6497 over the Swiss "rival" lol if you could even call it "Swiss"...

What a beaufitul combo, congrats on that purchase! That strap on your 111 is amazing, great choice.
I have not received QC pics yet. So far Chazingtime communicated to me it will be the 005 which I payed for, but honestly: I'm expecting the 111.
Pics will probably arrive at the beginning of next week!

I am almost sure that this is a flare of the crystal from lighting, when photographing. The texture of the dials should be the same, but pam005 is more contrasted due to white and wide markers. Against their background, the dial may seem darker.

Looking at them in the flesh, side by side, the 111 does “appear” slightly more grey. But, I think the contrast between the markers on the sausage dial I think is key. As per your comment, I think it’s almost an optical illusion.
