NOOB Panerai PAM 005 QC pics - what to look for?

Hi guys,

Just placed the order for the NOOB PAM005 after dubbing extremely long between the 111 and 005.
I guess I preferred the sausage dial over the sandwich .

As the tile suggests, what are the things to look for in the QC?
I did my homework, so I'm not stepping in blank;
- CP (no nipple effect);
- Crown guard pin (has to be flush with the crown guard if I'm not mistaken);
- Anything else?

If you have any other tips, please let me know.

If you read up on the “Pam guide” on here, it will show the things to look for on the dial, etc. Although, the noob 005, is damn good!

I did read up on the PAM Guide a bit, but I will do more so tomorrow: thanks for the tip.

Yes, i have it on a gen Pam strap. Gloss orange croc. I would suggest getting the best strap you can, as this really makes this watch pretty much indistinguishable from the gen.

Closed case back, so you can’t check to see any (minor) differences in the movement.

I’m trying to decide wether to go with Dirk for a Pre-V strap or an OEM Ponte Vecchio XS one. My wrist is rather small (16cm), so I have to make a smart choice here.

How’s the force of the crown guard?

I asked ChazingTime (my go to TD) and he said he could get it, on a rubber strap even instead of cardboard brownish leather. Who did you ask?

well here is the thing...... ChazingTime told me they are available too so I ordered it but instead of QC for Pam005 they sent me QC pics of newest noob pam111 but I decided to take it anyway.
i seriously think that instead of Pam005 you will get QC of pam111.

Hmm... When was this?

He (Ken?) said that the quality/version of the 005 is the same as the 111, so he knows the difference between the 2 models nevertheless haha. Let’s see where they come up with! I’ll let you know .

Crown guard is fine. easy to use, but secure.

Yes, stock rep strap isn't the best. It looks good on rubber as well though, of that's what your TD has said it's coming with (the 111 and 005 both look good).

The black strap is actually a dark brown buffalo strap I found from a Ebay seller in UK. He does really nice thick quality leather straps at very cheap prices. PM me if you want more info.

I don’t think it’s available. When I placed order for noob 005 at ChazingTime they sent me pam111. I ask two other TDs about 005 and they both told me it’s been unavailable for a long time.

That’s a good question. I’m not sure which version of those 2 they sent me. I’d rather take Asian eta. I had more problem with eta Swiss than with Asian eta. I think they are using refurbished parts for Swiss eta movements.

I agree. Asian ETA is finished even better than Swiss ETA. I’m not 100% positive but I’m suspecting Factories are using refurbished Swiss parts.

I also wanted to get 005 because of OP logo on the dial. But pam111 has sandwich dial which looks better than sausage dial. You know with Panerai you can’t have it all in one watch.
I’m totally happy with pam111 - it’s a classic same as pam005. I think pam111 is even more iconic than 005.
I think you will be happy with ether one.
i payed for noob Pam005 but got newest noob pam111 which cost more so why not.

thing to remember when it comes to qc of pam111 is Y Inca block. I’ve heard some of Noob pam111 v10 are missing it - I’ve seen a couple of pics of v10 without it.
my Noob v10 have Y Incablock but it’s facing front way but it’s such a easy fix so I decided to accept it. It just need to be turned other way.
noob Pam111 leather strap is garbage. I asked chiding time to get it on black rubber but they got it on brown leather strap. It also came with red camouflage extra rubber strap.
