OK last attempt.:wyliehelp:

Suppose Kenneth. P. Newb. wants to buy a sub. He has read and devoured all the information he can on this and other forums, and he's narrowed his choice down to a noob or a BP. Try as he might, he can't see the difference between the two, they're both pretty good after all. BUT - he has read that the bracelet and especially the clasp are not so clever on the BP. Since he doesn't want his new purchase to come undone and plummet to the floor, he wants to get it right. So he sees one for sale in M2M that looks good, and asks which maker. NOT the scenario Jordan outlined, but one you seem determined NOT to want to understand.

If he's that pedantic about the watch he wants that he's concerned about the clasp being loose. Why would he be buying a second hand watch. And if I were you I wouldn't sell to him. He's looking for perfection and will almost certainly submit a pp dispute when he gets your used watch and finds it's not flawless.

If he has read enough to know those types of differences, it seems highly unlikely he couldn't tell which is which by looking. Confirming or asking because of shotty pics is a whole different story. In your example, is Kenneth P. Newb blind by chance?

Well this thread took a turn for the worst.. Why does this keep happening.. It's all semantics in the end and instead of arguing about it just agree to disagree.. For some reason there's a lot of hostility at the moment and its mainly aimed at either noobs or stems down to a topic about noobs..

Fact of the matter is we were all noobs once (I still very much am) and eventually maybe we'll be able to spot the differences at a glance with a shitty photo... But maybe the approach should be different and maybe we should PM the seller just to either confirm our suspicions or answer the simple questions.. For some reason people's lack of knowledge really annoys the people that 'know all' I thought this forum was about learning and helping one another and most of all enjoying the world of REPs but lately it feels like its every man for himself at high school and there's the cool kids and the nerds...

The question Dave asked was already answered by me, as the topic was mainly aimed at a question I asked on a m2m sale thread... Yet it slowly but surely spiral dived, so my question is when a thread has run its course and people's questions are answered what's the point on going off onto tangents and therefore create an argument and most of the time it ends up personal...

Anyway just food for thought not aimed at anyone as this is happening in a lot of threads not just this one..

Happy days and enjoy gents

From one noob to another, well said mate!
I try to help if I can but if I have questions myself I ask. There's always someone quick to chime in with there 4 cents that doesn't really answer your question. Rather voice there opinion on what they feel like talking about if it's close to your question. Notice it started heading towards why the noob was better then the Bp. Nothing to do with the question at all. You ask why would you buy green apples and by page two people are arguing about why red apple taste better then Fuji apples. And your stupid if you eat green apples. Simple answer green apples are good for cooking. Not saying that's a fact just giving a example of how to answer why you would buy them.
