Just had both noobs land on my front door this morning.

The Full Ceramic is amazing. I'd love to see the gen to do a comparison, other than the movement, from all the photos i have seen its very very close. Amazing build quality and feels so good on the wrist.

I am wearing the Forged Carbon as we speak and although its an amazing piece, not sure I am sold on the gen-nature of the carbon. When compared to photos on the web, this carbon seems darker, and the patterns less noticeable. I have heard that the carbon is supposed to be a matt-black, but all the gen photos seem to show it as a shiner black. Anyone know of a good comparison between the two?

But yes, the full ceramic is amazing, so if you are on the fence.. get off.

The rotating inner ring is not anything like gen in the Ceramic diver. Is it like gen in the Forged Carbon, only minus some lube job of 80% quality. This is the thing keeping me from ordering the Ceramic.

Edit: actually, some Gens are like the Reps after some Google Fu.... but this is the Gen version I am referring to http://oceanictime.blogspot.se/2013/01/audemars-piguet-royal-oak-offshore.html

So there are different Gens out there?

The latest noob ceramic is a copy of the gen movement, it looks pretty accurate to me. Obviously a side by side comparison in detail isn't going to convince anyone but for a rep its pretty good. The only disappointing thing i noticed was the dial doesn't have the swirls like the forged carbon diver, which according to the AP website it has.

That said, I have seen some dials that seem to be missing the swirls on the same model, so not sure whats going on there. Perhaps there have been different versions?

Most of the recent FC models especially JF have a close enough FC pattern, you should never just judge based on pics because there is lightning involved especially at different angles , except you put the gen and the rep side by side there aren't noticeable differences. Some people say the gen is glossy some say it's matte it's like everyone is confused and judging the pattern based on pics so there will obviously be some differences. There have been numerous reviews on here, side by side with gen if you went through the forum so would have seen that and it shows the differences, and the FC patterns seems similar with obviously some slight variations .... SO till you see a gen in person you can't really compare
