Hi I'm fairly new to this scene so I was just wondering if it was at all possible. I've been looking at reviews of the ARF and my preference out of the box I'd go with the arf. The only problem is the 2 subdials don't work which is obviously a big draw back for me. I've seen a lot of people modding noobs with arf bracelets and dials but why has no one just put the noob movement into the arf? If anyone could help me with that it would be greatly appreciated :)

Hello and a heartfelt official WELCOME to RWI from the team at the reception front desk!

You have found the right place! You are receiving this reply either because you posted in the "New Members Say Hi" subsection or because I spotted one of your first posts on RWI somewhere in the forum. In the latter case, please consider going to the aforementioned section and introduce yourself there.

If you haven't already, please take some time to read the sticky threads in the new members section (in all subsections) as they contain lots of information for newbies and most importantly our forum rules which you need to know, and of course ideally to follow, to get the most out of your experience on RWI!

A good starting point is this list of links to the most important resources on RWI:

Also, this please take a look at this very important sticky thread:

If you need further help or have questions that you can't find answers to in the sticky threads, feel free to contact me or my teammate @Feefo!

We're happy to help, but please remember that we're doing this as volunteers for the love of this community and our hobby, and that we have busy lives outside of the forum, so please allow some time for PM responses!

[This is NOT an automated message, despite it being a standard text. Replies are welcome & will be read by an actual human!!!]

They don't do it because the ARF case is designed for a modified 7750 movement and isn't compatible. If that wasn't the case, then obviously everyone would have been dropping the 4130 clone into their ARF.

But generally everyone has moved on now from modded Noob/ARF hybrids anyway, because the latest Daytona models from Clean et al are more than good enough.

Ahh ok that makes sense. I was only looking at noob and arf because I'd like an ice blue dial. Clean don't make one as of yet so I'm not sure when or if they'll make one. I know bf make one but the dials a little of in my opinion so I'm a bit stuck here. Might have to be patient and see if clean makes one. Thanks for the help tho I appreciate it

Ah ha right. You probably want to hold fire then, Clean's almost bound to get to the ice blue dial at some point. In the meantime you could also keep an eye on M2M in case someone's selling the ARF (or post a WTB). Wish I'd kept mine...

IMHO the "works like the real thing" benefits of the clone 4130 are outweighed by the inherent fragility of chrono movements. I don't risk any of mine by actually using the chrono! And I speak as someone who had the Noob/ARF hybrid job done on my 116500 panda - and still never uses the Noob 4130 (serviced by Ado) for fear of it going wrong... I'd be perfectly happy with a vanilla ARF, wherever the opportunity arose to pick one up.

I might wait a little longer ill see, I was just looking at all the different options. The BF one doesn't look too bad I'd just probably swap the dial on it. I could get my hands on a arf ice blue it's just whether or not I should go ahead and get it as I could take the dial out of that and slap it onto the BF. But would have no idea if it's a straight forward fit or would require sanding. I'm pretty impatient as it is anyway so what would your thoughts be on putting the arf dial on the better factory? Or is it better to just get one or the other till clean release one

The ARF dial needs shaving to fit in the Noob case, so the chances are the same would be true of fitting it in any other case designed for the 4130 clone. Clearly you either need to be a proficient modder to do that, or have access to someone else who is. As I mentioned, my NARF work was undertaken by Ado, who is a well respected watch smith here (but unfortunately a chrono hand still got chipped in the process, so... it's not always a straightforward operation even when you know what you're doing!).

Although I've had a couple of Platonas, I don't miss them particularly, because I just couldn't quite get on with the ice blue/brown colour combo. But there's no arguing with their eye catching qualities!

Good luck with whatever you decide to do!
