I’ll say that I asked @Solution6 to service the one I have for sale right now (there’s nothing wrong btw, I just like immediately servicing reps) and he said he doesn’t work on them for a variety of reasons. Primarily though, it’s putting the customer first when you do that sort of thing as a professional. And I respect anyone who does that. I think in this case maybe discretion on his end was the better part of valor as well!

I am sorry about the situation you are in. A behaviour like this is totally unacceptable and despicable. Two years is a time period which I personally would not be able to live with and even less with someone damaging gen parts.

I hope you get your money back and thanks for the recomendations as well as the heads up on this apparently skill-less watchmaker.

Wow that discipline not to book a flight ticket is insane. Almost 2k in a watch for 2 years (!) is insane.

Murphy kicked in here extremely bad:(

I know we all like to claim that some watchmaker are crooks or less skilled here some times. BUT for some reason modders seem to end up in the same place after some time. They do very good work .Get overloaded with work. Start high cost mods and then things go wrong .
I am not a watchmaker but I would believe these people if they say these movements are bad to work on .I have reached out to multiple watchmakers to swapp a a7750 with a Swiss 7753 and they don't want to crimp the hands or replace the tube .Some have offered these services a long time ago but a lot of them told me it's not worth the trouble and stopped because the out come was unpredictable. Sourcing certain parts is a pain in the ass too or even impossible.

That being said he should get his watch back at least in working order after such a long time

yeah. Lucian has my utmost trust. Every watch I've ever sent to him has come back in perfect shape and extremely well done. I have a 16600 there now for a service and some gen parts to be installed.

Yes, you are right. In your particular case it’s even more so. But in this case we are seeing that others have been able to do these mods on many watches.

Very sorry to hear this. I had a pretty similar experience, not with this modder though. If it helps i can offer you a genuine moon disc without gears for a lot less than you paid, shouldnt break while installing since you don't have to get it off the gear either.

Thanks buddy. I’ll keep this in mind. It’s very kind of you.

I think that @Harleysta91 should answer to this thread.

@Oascom first, than @Harleysta91 ....it is absolutely horrible to disappear and not answering questions.

@jm_brc_7057 in my opinion is a Gentleman, 2 years waiting ? 2 k € throwed away ?

This is inconceivable.

Yeah buddy. I can see it sounds stupid now that I make status it’s been over 2 years.

But I am truly overwhelmed with the positive response and feedback from the members here. RWI is a special place with people who have a good heart.

I am not abandoning this hobby anytime soon, I’ve learned a lesson or two. But I will still do modding if I find a trustworthy modder.

I was able expecting a few harsh comments, when opening up around this issue.

My wife doesn’t know, as I don’t wanna give her a bad impression of this hobby. It’s gonna be easier to let her ‘accept’ this if she doesn’t know the negative side of things. Like this or the time when I lost 250$ on a WeChat dealer. And a few other small losses here and there.

So this is the support I’m getting. And I really appreciate it.

So I have an update. @Harleysta91 answered in the thread to me and @Cicero

He hasn’t sent the pictures requested by @Cicero and neither has he put a new movement into the watch, as Cicero asked him to do. Also he is refusing to make a refund.

Instead he is putting some new BS story up. He claims he has sent the movement to China for repair.

I replied to him that this is BS and not acceptable. And I’m not just gonna let him runaway with my hard earned money.

Also that I might have to knock on his door to retrieve what is mine.

Yes 😞 I am feeling frustrated and angry so as I almost can’t be in my own skin.
I am so sorry to hear this. I have been following this thread but when I heard that I really had to comment. Who in their right mind sends a watch to China for repair? Never mind a Watchmaker on this forum.

@Harleysta91 make this right now please. If you were not capable of taking on a complicated project like this you should not have done so. It seems your work so far has just made the watch and gen parts a lot worse than when they started out.

Latest update is, that he is cooperating with @tripdog ,

He has ordered a PPF 5712 V4 to use for movement swap. I have accepted that solution. I am not after getting money out of him. I will be happy as long as i get a functional watch. If it's done in a reasonable timefra. The time that has already passed, can't be brought back. I just hope there won't be any new mishaps.

I have upgraded to patron to give back to this forum for all the support of members and all the help i am getting from the mods.

I am sorry to hear that, brother. Gen 5712a moonphase is hard to source. I had similar situation before, that moonphase prob not easy to swap. years ago, sent that to SpongeBob, he scrathed that too o_O, but we worked that out and since then he has been my go-to watch mod for Patek.

Hope you get your 5712a soon!
