Hello everyone,

This is my first post here, and I am a new member from Ontario, Canada.

I have been following the forum for some years, and I appreciate the support from experienced members.

I have always wanted to get an Omega Seamaster replica, and I have a question for more experienced members: which model/factory is likely to have the least issues? I'm looking to get a watch to wear only on special occasions, not as a daily driver.

Once again, thank you for all your efforts in the forum.

Hi and belated welcome to RWI! Took you 2 years for a first post, well better late than never.

Please take some time to read the sticky threads in the new members area (all subsections), learn the basic forum rules and get some very good advice in the process. A number of questions has already been answered there, this is just an example:

https://forum.replica-watch.info/threads/you-are-welcome.10935638/
Another good thread to read to understand where RWI comes from and some fundamentals is this:
https://forum.replica-watch.info/threads/the-first-constitution-of-rwi.51989/post-11252239

For anything else, feel free to reach out to @eBoy or me, we're happy to assist.

This forum is a treasure trove of information and benefits from the engagement of all members who take their time to share their knowledge, help each other out and have some fun. We hope that you'll benefit and enjoy this platform as well as contribute positively to it.

If at any point you feel to contribute also on another level, feel free to pm the boss (trailboss99) to become a supporter and get some little perks with the status (editing rights, for example).

Regarding your question, there's a lot of seamasters out there, you ought to be more specific, but probably you'll be looking at vsf.

Enjoy the forum.

What size is your wrist.
My favorite rep seamaster is the ceramic case one, titanium bezel, but it's a few mm bigger than the standard ceramic 300 seamaster.

Then you have the standard 300 ceramic bezel in a bunch of colors, black, blue, green, white, tokyo, ect.

Then you also have the heritage line with the spectre 300 coaxial (flat lugs not curved, vintage looking lume on dial)

Then you have the newer james bond titanium No time to die watch (NTTD)

I think hey may have just come out with the new james bond, no date, blue dial one.

wow, such a detailed response.
My wrist is normal. I have couple 45 mm watches and they look okay on my wrist. I am more inclined towards a A2824/A2836 movements due to their simplicity. However not sure which factory I should go with

Most of those models are fairly reliable. I would just pick your favourite from that list. The ceramic case 2019 seamaster is my favourite. Also consider a green aqua terra for a special occasion watch that is a bit more classy than a straight up diver. These are all VSF. (VS factory)

I have never had a problem shipping to Canada from anywhere in the world.
I could recommend a few TDs
They are all pretty good
Supermirrors has been good in the past, I’d contact him (sead)

Love the look of that sail cloth strap on your ceramic titanium SMP.

Would like that for mine. Unfortunately, the 43.5 SMP has a 21mm lug width and it's always a small to medium pain in the butt to find odd-sized stuff. Where did you source that one, if you don't mind me asking? 😅

PS: I once tried to find a new black OEM 21mm rubber, but as rep version, for my SMP Ceramic, but for months it was impossible to find one. Tried VSF with TDs, Ali, Etsy, Dhgate, eBay... Nothing. Then, all of the sudden, one single shop on Ali had them. Ordered one, only to find out that the Omega reference on the underside of the strap was wrong (this one had, God only knows why, the ref. code for the blue 20mm OEM 😂😂😂). The VSF version has the correct one though. 🤪

@eBoy The strap is fom my rep DSOTM which needs a service, so doesn't get worn, but isn't really worth selling cheap as it needs a service, so I threw the sailcloth with deploy on the ceramic. Usually I have a rubber on the regular seamaster for swimming and I love the 43.5 ceramic so much I don't usually take it near water. I should throw it in the pressure tester one day.

They are 23mm but used blancpain FF straps are great, look on ebay sometines they pop up cheap, ive got 3 of them now.
Sill hoping to pick up an artem sailcloth one day in 20mm, they pop up on the gen forums used sometimes.

Is there a way any of the experienced members can help me with the QC process?

The purpose of QC pics is to spot any obvious production flaws. You don't need experience for that. Check that the hands are there, dial is fine etc. It's very quick and straightforward.

Please read the stickies about QC, there's at least 2 of them in the new members area and subsections, and learn the rules about QC.
Try not to overthink it, at the end of the day QC is basically to make sure the watch is the model you ordered and there are no major misalignments in indices, bezel, date. As simple as that. If you like what you see, give it a go. There are a lot of experienced members, and i tend to do the same, who dedicate 1 to 2 minutes to QC, you don't need more. Zooming in is pointless because you reach an unrealistic level of detail. Drawing lines is ridiculous because the pics are never gonna be on a plane you can reference to, and if you don't see a misalignment with your naked eye on an already zoomed in pic, the watch is good.
Simply don't overthink it.

I completely agree with you. Even Gens have some defects, so I won't be too picky.
The reason I am asking is that experienced members will have an idea about "common" issues with a certain rep coming from a certain factory, should help avoid un-necessary RLs. Also they can provide some insights on what is "good enough". However, I am not planning to be too picky or draw lines. If anyone is looking for such level of perfection, they should go to a GEN anyways
