UPDATE:
So went to customs this morning...and it was an experience like no other. Went there around 10ish this morning to get my package (2 watches). They will give you a number and wait to be called to "examine" the package and "estimate" your custom duties. They do it in an office with glass windows so everyone can see. The officer will ask you first whats in the package and its value. You really cant lie on this part since they dont care what was declared coz they open it anyway. When they saw that they wre watches they initially asked how much was the value and asked if I have an invoice. Well I didnt and said that I ddnt know I needed to show one. I said they are $100 watches and are just replicas from china. The lady said they look legit and asked why it was packaged securely if it wasnt genuine. I said that if it was genuine it would come with a box and not from china. So she kinda trusted me and asked again if I have an invoice? I said no and she said ok we'll just tax it based on your declared value. Trust me i wish I said $20 instead of $100.
So when they showed me that I had to pay 3000pesos, I said this much??? For replica watches??? Then I asked if she can lower ot down coz I couldnt afford that. She then asked me to wait and after she recalculated the fee she gave me a new quote for 1,800. I accepted it and paid it.
I was actually satisfied with that amount since It was like 900 per watch which is not too bad.
My reccomendation to my fellow kababayans is first use Registered Mail, longer but less hassle. If you have to go with the EMS route, request or make a "fake" invoice and put a lower price so they dont tax you too much. And lastly, BARGAIN with them like you are in greenhills. Lol. Hopefully this helps someone in the future!!!
