The thing about APs is that it takes a certain owner profile/attitude to carry one off convincingly.
AP reps bridge the divide very well for the guys who want to wear the gen but does not want to, or cannot spend the money on one.
But reps are reps and especially for APs, they should be worn for novelty purposes and as a gen owner you know that often the only “gen like” APs are in fact the gen APs themselves. The reps should just be enjoyed for what they are, $500 watches with the appearance of $20-40k ones and to be honest they have come a long long way from 10 years ago. With the right attitude and flair, it will in fact be difficult to convince others that they are NOT gen. Being “gen like” is very subjective and a moot point. Just be confident and every watch we wear will be “gen like” on the wrist.
