It looks pretty dude!, I'm talking with one dealer for my Portuguese, he is telling me that the best version so far is: IW3714445 ZF 1:1 A79350V3!

Any question about it? or any concern? :)

Get the color combination you like the most and that will give you the most pleasure when you wear it.

So I got mine, here're the observations:

YL :
dial: is slightly more creamy white with a smooth lacquered texture, bolder print font, lower "swiss made"
subdials: seems to be more recessed and less shiny
hands and markers: more greyish blue, 9 marker seems weird
case thickness: ~12.5mm
crown: flatter tip
strap: black

ZF:
dial: tends to be more silvery and has a coarse texture, higher "swiss made"
subdials: seems to be less recessed and more shiny
hands and markers more reflective in a brighter blue in same lighting conditions
case thickness: ~12.5
crown: rounder tip
strap: blue

ZF on the left with custom strap, YL on the right all stock:

As some of you know, the casefront of my YLF 3714 fell off due to screws failure. I have sent it back to PT about 3 weeks ago for repairs and looks like it will take some time for them to fix it. In the meantime, the Jacob strap I ordered arrived about 2 weeks ago, unfortunately with the 3714 absent. I have the strap laying around for some time and finally I decided to pop the strap on my other daily driver to try it on. So bear with me, this is not an IWC (for now) :bleh:.

I have ordered the strap from Jacobs stating I want a Santoni styled strap, possibly with better sweat resistant ability. Since the orange leather for the back side is not completely water-proof, Mr. Jacob is kind enough to suggest a water-proof leather for the back side of the strap to suit my taste, he actually offered three colors for me and I have chosen the cognac. The strap was in lighter color and I asked Mr Jacob to see if he could darken it a bit more, the result is absolutely incredible. Today I put the strap on the Rider M005, which is basically a Bauhaus styled watch running on the Miyota 9015.

Another great job from Mr Jacob, I can't wait until my 3714 is back from PT.

Cheers everyone!

Can I ask how much you paid for the strap and if you are going to put your deployant on it from the rep? Also, how long did it take to get the strap and what size is it? 120/80?

Sorry for all the questions :)

The price is around 200 euro. The strap is actually made for the deployant sized at 135/55mm so yeah I will put it on my deployant once it's back. If you're unsure about the size, just ask Jacob about it and he will guide you through the right questions. The waiting list is about 6/8 weeks when I ordered, shipping takes another week or two depending on where you live.

I've just received QC Pics of my 371446. I asked for the YLF but they've sent me pictures of the ZF Version. From the QC Pic, the dials don't look too shiny. Would one of you kind chaps mind casting your eye over the picture and giving me your opinion?

Hm guys... Reading all posts on 46 pages - come to final decision: I'll buy a ZF version and start a new franken project. The 3714 is one of the most beautiful IWC, but franken projects were very difficult because of the cage height.

With the new reliable movement and the thinner case it's easy to start a project by just changing the dial and the hands. Ok, pricey, but frankening is always pricey.

The new slim ZF v3 case? Not the old case.

I ordered dial and hand set. Will see how accurate the rest is build. But I spotted a gen 79350, so it's important to know this fits to the new slim case.

If not: which modifications you did?

Sorry, was a bit busy. Domenico did the swap of hands and dial for me. A fantastic job! The watch arrived today, I will post some pictures soon.
