HI, Gang!

This arrived in this AM's mail from Jamie @ TS: a Rolex vintage "Tiffany" watch on a green nylon strap. It's one of several "vintages" I'll be ordering over the next several weeks, and this "Tiffany" intrigued me. When I unwrapped it, I noticed a few things on it -- including a missing coronet from the buckle. Earlier, I purchased the correct bezel insert for this model & will try to, well,
insert it... . If you don't mind, give me your thoughts on this... . dave. Now, onto the pics: (ps: Sorry for some of the blurries; was in a hurry.)

Ive actually looked at the same watch for vintaging. Do you plan on fading the insert? I'm leaning that way. Does this one have pins or fixed bars?

Looks like it has fixed bars on the case, Mick. And, no, not right now, as I'm still learning how to do that stuff.

Before you do any vintage work on it (if that's what you have planned), please do some research and look at what other gen vintage versions look like. This watch has my favorite handset, hands down. (pun intended!) As far as the strap goes- I'd lose it fast! Get a nice long 4 ring NATO to go on it instead. Maybe even a distressed Bund strap. From what I can tell, I'm not sure I'd bother with a vintage lume- what you have now looks good to me at this point. I'd have to do some research to see if that changes my mind though. If you do something with the replacement insert, personally I wouldn't go very far at all with it. Less is more, and those who take it to extremes thinking they're doing something really special just ruin things IMHO.

I believe that's a milsub, the Tiffany dial says Tiffany & Co.
Yep. The 5517 has nothing to do with Tiffany. The circle T on the dial is a British MOD marking to indicate the presence of tritium.

Scratch Nato, I meant to say Maratac Zulu. My bad. The comments above about Tiffany are correct.

BTW- PLEASE....PLEASE note that the insert on this is not all bleached out like it was left on a deserted island rock for 50 years. :)

Thanks for the Education, guys

To Lhooq & tb: Thanks for the education on the dial face re: Tiffany & Co. When you mentioned it, bells went off in the 'ole noodle & had an "aha!" Moment. So much to learn for this noob (don't let the post count fool you... .) Nato it is or perhaps a bund strap (?) as suggested; no other mods now, as I've learned how to take off casebacks and regulate timing on A 221Js. A little at a time... .

Cheers!

Forgot to insert this: the circle around the "T" is broken (upper left side of circle). Should I be concerned about this? It's only visible (1) if you stare closely at the dial and/or (2). use a loupe. Kinda bugs me, but... .
