and also the Salmon Dial Version...
I have three of this model from ZF and like them very much, even that the second hands stutters big time.
This watch is very comfortable to wear.

Do you think this model movement is also based on the 9015?

This GR add states to have the same spacing between the centre pinion and sub-dial pinion as the original, so that is a bonus over the ZF that is further apart, however, the GR subdial is higher to accommodate that.

So, go with zf for the subdial at 6 being in the correct position, or sit higher with the proper distance... I wonder if the movement is the same.

If the movement is reliable and priced right, i think we can see pass the subdial higher spacing.

Yes, the placement would not bother me, but the stuttering of the running seconds at „6“ of the ZF version is bothers me.

The 3583 would be very interesting.

Not sure that I have heard of the "GR" factory before, though...?
What other watches have they replicated? How good are they?

GR have been around quite some time, not one of the big players to my knowledge. They have done quite a few patek's in the past.

As for the ZF version, is it just a stuttering second, with the hours and minutes being accurate, or is the whole watch unreliable?
Thank you.

kinda wish there was a black/ss in addition to the black/gold. But , these are nice. This is a good clean dial, I bet they would look larger that 40 because of it.

The ZF one was based on a Seiko movement, maybe because of the balance position. I made a teardown guide here in the IWC threads. It also shows how to minimize the problem with the small second hand.

Aloha,

Here is my totally unprofessional report on the IWC IW3583 Portugieser 40 mm replica by the GR factory.

I have bought both the green (IW358310) and the white/blue (IW358304) models for USD 318 each.
Since I don´t have the originals, I can´t compare them to those.

The serial number is 2345678 for both watches. The size is good for my 17 cm wrist. They are smaller than the IW5007 Portugieser but the difference is not that huge.

Workmanship looks good to me but I am not an expert. The brushing on the sides is not very visible. The green dial has a nice sunburst. The white dial looks perhaps a little flat. The blue on the hands and markers is quite intensive.

The straps are a bit stiff and thin. Not sure about how accurate their colours are. I will replace them.

My TD was told by the factory that these are Miyota 9015 movements. Accuracy was measured by the TD to be 7s/d and -9s/d. 28,800 beats per hour. They have a date function and a hacking function. They run for about 44 and 52 hours with 40 turns of the crown. Pulling out the crown is a bit tricky. The rotor can be heard. I haven´t noticed any stuttering of the small seconds hand.

Hope this helps. I am open to your questions.
