New update for the SA3135 YachtMaster 16622

here's my sa 3135 V1 with a "Cartel" (TS,Josh-Andrew) dial , Thanks to murkness for turning me on to this dial! I think this is as close as I can get right now, I have had 5 dials in this thing, the orig dial, a V2 dial, a TC/WM9 , a sean, and now this one, I handled a gen a few weeks ago at a pawn shop ,and let me tell you ALL of the dials before this new "cartel" are too dark, plain and simple, all the fella's wearing there beloved WM9 or TC? I hate to break your heart but if you have ever seen a real YM, you will take your YM and but it in a drawer , this dial is very very close

the lume is very strong on the cartel , problem is the lume color (daytime) is not as white as it should be ,its off white but I'm splitting hair's at this point , if I can find someone that can LUME in bright white that would be the icing on the cake , also the hands that come on the cartel are the incorrect FAT hour hand so thats something you can try to work around , I had my sa3135 hands relumed by cwazy to match the dial

Anyone still sell those dial? looks great. Very similiar to gen plantinum feel.. I agree all rep YM dial is crap. The sparkling bit is far too big.

you have to get the complete watch to get the dial ,I asked all the TD's and they cant (so they say) source the dial alone, BUT if you have a YM already you can swap out the dials and then move the other watch on the for sale boards
this is where I bought the complete watch, you also get a nice clasp with it also, a a21 is only $128 so its worth that just for the dial and clasp

the TC is exactly the same as a WM9 , and yes its too dark , lets put it this way, the TC dial is the right color but only in certain light, it goes from the right color to a dark color when it reflects light, the new Cartel ( Time shops, andrew, josh) dial goes from the right color to a lighter color just like the gen does

WG1 i have checked a lot the TC dials..Gen YM dial is very sensitive in the light changes..But both markers and colours seem to be different from year to year..

TC is more accurate in both terms of dial and shadewith the older range dial..But yours seems to be really close to the new ones..Both great if you ask me

thanks for that info! it explains alot! I thought that maybe the gen YM dial may differ in color from year to year! and this confirms it, I have a friend that had a gen YM about 10-11 years ago and I could of swore his dial was darker!.. interesting

Here's a gen dial and a TC/WM9 dial (gen on the left) they are different, but the WM9 is still pretty damn nice. Too bad we can't get a bitchin cool blue dial version!

Lume is v good. The BP blue lume rollies are all pretty bright - not as bright as green though

Sorry it's an android crappy lume shot but you get the idea will try to take a proper one w my camera later

THE sead case is nothing like the sa3135 YM case, the sa3135 fits only a 3135 rolex, sa3135 or a eta 2824, the sead case is a average descent YM for $150 bucks , the sa3135 has correct U shape crownguards and a awesome bezel insert too

Is the sa3135 gen construction?

I'm not knockin on your watch but if its from PT I'd be willing to bet it's far from gen construction.
It's pretty commonly accepted that the best case set is Sean and the best dial is WM9 and WM9 case being just behind the Sean .. now unless the laws of gravity doesn't apply anymore then I'd assume nothing's changed.... but that is a very good looking watch, none the less....

I had a Sean YM case, and it's far superior to the TC/WM9. For one thing the insert is much more gen like and has a richer texture. Also the TC has a weird hook on the bottom of the 5.

Now let's don't get carried away! The Sean insert is better but as cases go the WM9 and TC are both very good....... a TC/wm9 with a gen platinum insert will send the Sean packing.... so I don't think it's fair to say the Sean case is that much better,,,, let's say the Sean insert is better and the cases are very, very close....

I haven't, but I have had my WM9 side by side with gen.... and I agree the insert is lacking but the case is spot on.... I saw a huge post about the etaswiss YM with macros and honestly I can't tell much difference,,,, except the insert,,,, and I agree the WM9 is lacking, the numeral "5" looks like a "S" ......and I've also not seen a TC in person so I'm just taking people's word that the WM9 and TC are the same watch,,,, I've not seen a post with TC and WM9 side by side..... TC sent me a TC YM bracelet to see if the TC would fit the WM9 correctly and it does.... so I assume they're the same watch....

I have no desire to debate the merits of one of these being better then the other,,,I'm no expert,,, in fact I've studied the sub-c hands down more then any other watch but I do own a very good franken WM9 YM... and it's impossible for any watch other then the gen to be much better and it's not much better.....
