the longer I think about it, I actually must say that not going for this vintage styled lume or bezel makes it more appealing over the long term. gives it the opportunity to age (faded bezel, fade of lume color) and marks some kind of new beginning to the the vintage inspired black bay lineup
excited to see new variations in the future

Well, i'd be 100% with you if Luminova was fading over time but i don't think it does!

Heska is correct. Luminova will not change appearance over time. The bezel and other parts of the watch will obviously age, but not the lume.

Looking good, that tone of blue is quite nice and not as loud... Rep would be nice but who knows...

Bezel insert is different colour than the dial (I blame this forum for noticing such things lol). Here is a bunch of instagram pics where it clearly shows:

Nice. When repped I’ll be picking one up. Wish they‘d gone for square indices instead of round though for this and the original 58. Better fit with the snowflake hands imho. Heritage aligned to the 94010.

I’d want one if the indices / hands / bezel were gold instead of silver.
silver and blue is too corporate. It doesn’t wow me.

I’ve reached out to my local ADs today and hoping to get the gen very soon. This is an instant buy! I had the original gen 58 and sold it because the gilt dial never really worked for me. Blue plus silver speaks to me so much more.

Think it would look too close to the Pelagos in that case, even though they are definitely two different watches.

They are calling it the Blue Bay...

Really nice, I might try to get the gen. A rep would be nice, but rep makers never manage to get the correct blue color on any watch. This one will be even more complicated for them to get right, as the bezel and dial have different shades of blue.

Waited for this ever since the original BB58. The perfect size diver but was never a fan of the gold/gilt. Put my deposit down yesterday and looking forward to seeing it in person

Completely agree.

I understand why some prefer the colder more austere appearance of this blue/silver variant, but for me a big part of the appeal of the BB58 is the warm vintage feel of the gold hands, creamy lume and gilt dial. That is totally missing from this blue variant.

Don't get me wrong, this blue variant is a very nice watch in its own right, but to me its missing something compelling enough to add it to the collection.

Actually, the flaws on the current ZF BB 58 are such that even the rep falls down on recreating the warm vintage look and feel of the gen, which is what has kept me from picking up a BB58 rep. However, the gen BB58 is towards the top of my list of pick-ups if I happen to come across a decent deal on one (unlikely!).

Not bad, but I can't stand those plates on the sides of the bracelet links. What's that even supposed to be?

Blue dials are a soft spot for me, pretty excited. For those on the Reddit Rep groups there's some chatter and (supposedly) leaked photos.

I have no sources I know personally and am only posting photos I found on Reddit!! Please take these with a grain of salt.

Looks promising though...
