Hello. I'm new to the replica scene. After some searching around, I've determined that watcheden seems to be a decently reliable supplier of Rolex reps. Can anyone recommend a few other dealers for the price?

I'm interested particularly in the Day Date/II series. Do you have any experience with these reps?

I noticed that on watcheden, the prices are based on the movement of the watches. For example, this one (http://www.watcheden.com/rolex-day-date-automatic-full-gold-with-diamond-i-10919-p-1.html) has a 21J Asia movement for $128. However, another one (http://www.watcheden.com/rolex-day-...ith-black-dial-stick-marking-i-27219-p-1.html) that has Swiss ETA movement, runs for $258. Are they truly Swiss-made internals? If so, how does the Asian piece stack up in reliability (my main consideration, because it seems that the factories have got the looks down fairly well).

Thanks for any help!

Without reading all of your post I'd just say that you need to read the trusted dealer reviews before purchasing anything.. narrow a list down to 2-3 dealers that you can picture yourself actually doing business with and then compare prices within those 3 dealers for the watch you want. Good Luck sir and welcome to the forum!

There's almost no chance it would actually be a Swiss-made movement. Most of the dealers still say Swiss ETA when it's really an Asian copy of the ETA.
21J-powered watches are generally cheaper not just because of the movement but because other cost-cutting measures are usually taken; i.e. Mineral glass vs. Sapphire, AR coating, quality of case and bracelet, etc. This is not always a hard-and-fast rule, but it does apply quite often.

I'm absolutely not advertising for watcheden. I have no experience with reps and the only other site I was considering was exactwatches.com, which is on the blacklist. I would consider replicamake but they do not seem to carry the Day Date line.

WatchEden sucks......buy elsewhere.....true that Swiss made movements are a thing of the past, for the most part......couple of years ago, you could get them, but not now.....might find one for sale in Mem Rep Sales, but not from dealers

No, I knew you weren't advertising for them... didn't mean for you to get that idea. They attract a lot of noobs.. You can always email replicamake or check marvellousreplica.com ...the sites that have every single watch advertised are normally full of it and once you order will tell you to "choose another". Buying rep watches is a lil different.. many times you just need to email your dealer a photo and ask "can you get this?" and they'll let you know. MR and Lay (replicamake) will even tell you if your selection is known for having issues. I hope this helps... it get's a lot less confusing the more you read and pay attention. This forum is invaluable and the members will help you to the 9th degree (though that doesn't mean you should ignore the search function). Much success to you sir.

Thanks, I really appreciate it. Out of curiosity, how much does a decent, not POS replica run?

Well, let's say a Rolex Day Date with Swiss movement. A decent band, sapphire, and AR coating would all be nice as well.

$120-$1000, depending on what you are looking for................LOL

Well, let's say a Rolex Day Date with Swiss movement.

Real Swiss movement? If you can find one for sale on the Mem Rep Sales market, probably about $225 in excellent condition (95%)

Sorry for not being too familiar with this all. I will do a bit of research to see what factors play into the price.

Replicamake has another site called Replicamade.com and it seems to have a lot more Rolex's on there. I am even noticing that he has the 2836 ETA and the asian copy 3135 on there. I would check that out since Lay is outstanding to work with even I am waiting shippment on a Rolex Blue Dial V Serial Sub and his communication with willingness to help has been above and beyond perfect.

Hi,

I'm really new to replica watches too! But one of the first things I learnt from here is to buy the ETA-clones. They have been said to be as good as the real ETA counterparts, and they are a lot cheaper! Personally, if given the choice - I'll buy the clone.

What's the point in paying $50+ for something which you'll probably not get, and the clone is 99% similar?

In my opinion, by buying the clones I can put more money aside - for... MORE REPS!!!

Ok guys, enough of this.
How many of you lot have bought from WE? Huh?
While I have no problems with folk stating their own experiances with a dealer I can not but think this is turning into a witch hunt. WE have many, many satisfied customers yet somehow the same two or three people turn up in each and every WE thread to throw crap around. We (mostly seanf) have been working with WE for weeks on end now and although some of this may have been justified in the past it isn't now. Do you guys know how many watches WE sell weekly on this forum? Hundreds guys and how mwany complaints are we getting to admin? Maybe one every three weeks or so. Is that a bad average considering some of them are simply "Its been two weeks since I paid and my watch that is coming via normal air mail has not shown up yet!", I don't think so. Yet every time there is an issue here the same few jump on it. Not fair guys! Very few of these issues are brought to the attention of the mods or admin before being aired here as protocol once dictated and only some of them bother contacting us after we ask them to. Most are dealt with in a timely manner by WE without any intervention by us so where is the problem?

Anyone with evidence that WE have been supplying clone MVTs when a gen Swiss has been specified please contact me ASAP, until then, yes , there is a chance it may be a re-manufactured MVT or even on occasions a clone but I can tell you from experiance that the three "Swiss" MVTs I have from WE are in fact gen ETA MVTs. Yes, they may not be brand new (it's very hard to tell a re-manufactured unit from new) but they are gen Swiss! How many of you have even pulled a MVT apart? Anyone? I have, and I can tell gen from clone even if I need to pull it down to it's component parts first in order to do so.

If you have an issue with WE please contact seanf by PM and he will look into it. Any action that is required WILL be taken but the witch hunt is over! I and my team do our level best to provide you lot with a safe and enjoyable place to pursue your hobby and a selection of dealers to buy off. In return we neither ask nor receive one single red cent. We do it because we want to and because we enjoy helping others enjoy this great hobby. Please, trust our judgment in matters such as this and report anything amiss to us. If you must, by all means post here as well but keep it real and relevant, not generalised hearsay.

Regards, Col.

BTW, before the snide remarks start, yes, on occaision I have got things from dealers, Silix once saw a post by me asking where I could get a Breit strap and sent me one, Robert sent me a $40 YM in return for making a donation to RWG on his behalf (well before I was Admin here) but WE have not to this day given me as much as a discounted price. Never have I received a cracker from them that would not be available to any member. Just so we are clear on that point.

+1 col

I have had nothing but good luck with WE.

Also, Maximos, Gen rollies dont have AR, so it would be a give a way. Try Timeshops, they have alot of day/dates.

To echo what Trailboss said, I have worked-- extensively--with WE to bring them in line with what we expect our dealers to be. And I can honestly say that of every dealer we have on the board, Tony (WE's owner) is the most committed to addressing issues. I have dealt with a number of complaints from WE purchasers, and I believe every one of them have been resolved.

I would ask that if anyone has any ongoing issue with WE, PM me immediately and I'll see what I can do. But Trailboss is right-- this witchhunt mentality has got to stop. If it doesn't, you guys are basically advocating punishment for a dealer who has bent over backwards to address every concern and issue that was brought to his attention. What the hell kind of message does that send?

Timeshops seems like a nice source. Can anyone give me some feedback about their experiences with them? They've got quite a few 41mm Swiss-made 2836 units available...
